By signing Woolfenden it does give us the opportunity to play wing backs instead of wingers of and when injured/suspensions determineIt's good in one respect but ironically it's one of the positions we've forward planned for. Selling Sheaf looks a bit desperate now and leaves us short of the quality we need in midfield. We are still short at right and left wing.
Not sure signing him from the Black Eyed Peas will make much of a difference to our squadLampard might call his best mate Willian tomorrow

Have we got enough central midfielders to do it nowBy signing Woolfenden it does give us the opportunity to play wing backs instead of wingers of and when injured/suspensions determine
why did we bid £10m on hughes then?I think we were desperate. Even without the stadium purchase, I said on here 2 weeks ago that we probably don't have the funds without selling an asset.
Is Dabo still a free agent ?Have we got enough central midfielders to do it now
None of us know how much we bid or how the bid was structuredwhy did we bid £10m on hughes then?
Haji sometimes appears on the wings and BTA through the centre when he plays on the wings. Pretty sure it is a fluid front three thing.I refuse to believe he isn’t under instruction to do that. Surely Lampard would be tearing his hair out with him and would have stopped playing him there is he keeps ignoring his position to that magnitude?
there would have been a significant amount upfront and that was before we knew sheaf was going?None of us know how much we bid or how the bid was structured

True but there has been interest surrounding MvE all summer. Surely we knew we were going to lose at least one valuable player from the squadthere would have been a significant amount upfront and that was before we knew sheaf was going?
Hughes was never really on unless we made it impossible to say no which wouldn't have been a good deal for us so we got our 2nd target.Either we never actually thought we'd get him at that price, as Hull made clear. Or, we still hoped/expected to sell MVE/Sheaf.
So we just bid for a laugh and weren’t serious about signing him? What was our plan if Hull accepted?Either we never actually thought we'd get him at that price, as Hull made clear. Or, we still hoped/expected to sell MVE/Sheaf.

they’re wrapping themselves up in knotsSo we just bid for a laugh and weren’t serious about signing him? What was our plan if Hull accepted?
I get the sense Woolfenden was our first target and then when the interest in Thomas materialised we pursued HughesHughes was never really on unless we made it impossible to say no which wouldn't have been a good deal for us so we got our 2nd target.
yep, as has been said their embargo made his cost right now far too much for anyone to paExactly, we were never going to pay what they wanted and we shouldn't. He's not worth that to us right now.
How ? It coincided with the Thomas interest didn't it?they’re wrapping themselves up in knots
So we just bid for a laugh and weren’t serious about signing me him? What was our plan if Hull accepted?
could be, okay when Hughes was not worth the money required we got the other of our top 2 targetsI get the sense Woolfenden was our first target and then when the interest in Thomas materialised we pursued Hughes
To be honest I can see Tom Lawrence haha
I’d rather Patrick Bamford. Don’t want to see Tom Lawrence here

We would of signed him but likely the money would of then had to come from the likely sale of someone like Rudi next summer who if he has another great season will attract bigger clubs than Southampton or if we somehow got promoted the increase in revenue would have covered it.So we just bid for a laugh and weren’t serious about signing him? What was our plan if Hull accepted?
Bamford has been pretty rubbish for a good while and plays in a role we have 3 players in already. Lawrence for his faults does play in a 10 or on the wings which would be more valuable to us and our current squad.I’d rather Patrick Bamford. Don’t want to see Tom Lawrence here

Lawrence is absolutely shite and would take until January to get fit.Bamford has been pretty rubbish for a good while and plays in a role we have 3 players in already. Lawrence for his faults does play in a 10 or on the wings which would be more valuable to us and our current squad.
I know Laurence was in Lampard's Derby team that got to the playoffs. We were tracking Lawrence in June according to the Scottish press.
He's not that bad but you crack on fat boy, so the Norwich game yeah?Lawrence is absolutely shite and would take until January to get fit.
Keep calling me fat when I'm literally not fat, its hilarious. You throw insults round thinking they are gonna stick when they wont. He's not that bad but you crack on fat boy, so the Norwich game yeah?
