It's good in one respect but ironically it's one of the positions we've forward planned for. Selling Sheaf looks a bit desperate now and leaves us short of the quality we need in midfield. We are still short at right and left wing.
By signing Woolfenden it does give us the opportunity to play wing backs instead of wingers of and when injured/suspensions determine

I think we were desperate. Even without the stadium purchase, I said on here 2 weeks ago that we probably don't have the funds without selling an asset.

I refuse to believe he isn’t under instruction to do that. Surely Lampard would be tearing his hair out with him and would have stopped playing him there is he keeps ignoring his position to that magnitude?
Haji sometimes appears on the wings and BTA through the centre when he plays on the wings. Pretty sure it is a fluid front three thing.

Either we never actually thought we'd get him at that price, as Hull made clear. Or, we still hoped/expected to sell MVE/Sheaf.
Hughes was never really on unless we made it impossible to say no which wouldn't have been a good deal for us so we got our 2nd target.

So we just bid for a laugh and weren’t serious about signing me him? What was our plan if Hull accepted?

We would have found the money, like we did with the stadium.

We aren't in the position to keep buying players without selling assets. If we had signed him, someone would have gone in Jan.

We've balanced the books quite nicely this window and will leave a bit of room to spend in January should we need to.

We would of signed him but likely the money would of then had to come from the likely sale of someone like Rudi next summer who if he has another great season will attract bigger clubs than Southampton or if we somehow got promoted the increase in revenue would have covered it.

I’d rather Patrick Bamford. Don’t want to see Tom Lawrence here

Bamford has been pretty rubbish for a good while and plays in a role we have 3 players in already. Lawrence for his faults does play in a 10 or on the wings which would be more valuable to us and our current squad.

We were tracking Lawrence in June according to the Scottish press.
I know Laurence was in Lampard's Derby team that got to the playoffs.
Few years ago now. Anyone have any sensible observations why we might want him or has he gone over the hill?
Wonder why he is a free agent? Wages or is he no good now?
Must admit, I know nothing about him.
Ali is a car crash. Wrexham or Blues will probably sign the Ox
