Well clearly we can't prove who is right or wrong so it's a pretty futile argument.

I just think it's absolutely mad to suggest that Sheaf would be resigned to the bench for the season.

Let me put it another way, do you think Allen and Eccles are better than Sheaf?
I think they, especially Eccles is good enough to act cover that means we would have been stupid to turn down the offer for sheaf

yes they can act as cover until January when we can if need like last Jan strengthen the midfield

If we had signed a CM and winger (within the whole window) it’d have been our best window. But we didnt so its not, its a decent window dont get me wrong but depth up top is lacking (other than at ST) 1 LW, 1 RW, 1 AM

How can we rotate players when we have 2 recognised wingers ? We’re relying on BTA playing out of position & a LB from the 2nd division in Spain covering for EMC. Massive gamble that was not needed when we had bodies in the building
Again. We've let no one go who was ever going to play!!! What are you not grasping?

There was no scenario where Raphael was ever getting a start, we have Sakamoto, and EMC, then BTA, then KKH, then MvE (with Lats or Eccles as FB ) then Brau or JDS who would all be played as wingers before Raphael, so what are you not understanding?

I like the Woolfenden signing.
I have no problem with any of the incomings.
I have no problem with any of the outgoings.
BUT
We have left ourselves light and there is no way the manager didn't want a couple more. It could have made a real difference and someone has dropped a bollock somewhere let's be honest.

We got the CBS which is the best news in decades honestly and I still expect a good season, but it hinges a lot on keeping players fit and injury free.
Absolutely spot on.

Looks to me like Austin shit the bed again. Last year Stamenic, this year looks like we bet heavily on getting Hughes, and completely lost the plot with other areas that could be exposed if we let some of our squad players go out on loan or even be sold.

I‘m happy enough with our defensive additions, but what the fuck, we’re a bit light now everywhere else….

There was zero chance of either Bassette or Raphael getting any meaningful game time.
It was blindingly obvious that Lampard didn't rate them.

So moving the pair of them on makes PERFECT sense.
Wigan is a good place to see if Rapha is going to make the grade with us. As is Obiku at Lincoln. That is what loans are all about.

Whilst I agree that the window has been mediocre - we don't know what we actually tried to do.
Difficult position for us where we are now likely going for players that lots of other teams are as well.
We could have had a number of irons in fires over the last few weeks and missed out on them all.....
Well it see seems we dropped the ball while we got the stadium sewn up and we don't know what liability that's left uswith .we've been bidding for at least a couple up to ten million for a couple of months.

Been saying this for a while. Won’t be long.

No room for EMC and now we only have 3 strikers I don't see us playing two up.

We might very occasionally play it, or it injuries dictate it, but it's certainly not going to be the preferred formation.

I’m notoriously on the fence with things, I never really fluster when things don’t go right. But to come out of this window with no added midfielders, and then going on to sell our captain on deadline days feels criminal to me. Allen/Eccles are not promotion chasing midfielders, it’s as simple as that.

We are 1 serious injury to Rudi, Grimes or Torp away for it to have a significant impact on our results. The drop off from the starting midfield to the backup is night and day. This should have been addressed long before Sheaf was sold.

Stadium aside (which is incredible) someone has seriously not done their job this window, and I genuinely feel we could pay a huge consequence.

That’s my bed wetting done for the year. I’m really angry. But we’ve had it much much worse, so I’ll always try to look for the positives.
I kinda felt the same about Sheaf but he is injured A LOT and was rubbish generally last year…and injured again already this. £6.5mil is not bad.
It’s a marathon not a sprint.

Genuinely think we’ll see some more i comings from free agents. Tom Lawrence is the obvious one. Then if you signed a striker, you could have BTA as our back up RW. Deli Ali is an interesting one for anyone but think he’ll retire now

I suppose we’re going to see plenty of weeks between now and January where Brau or KKH are closing games out on the wings. Which is uhhhh something to uhhhhh look forward to?

Think we will switch to 3-5-2 when injuries kick in .
And see the usual suspects are writing off two midfielders who have already been a part of two playoffs squads .
Not the greatest end to a window , would've hoped for at least one more loanee but certainly not the worst by any stretch

Each time we've seen Brau play left wing he's drifted to centre forward at times, which seems less than ideal for defending the flank.

I refuse to believe he isn’t under instruction to do that. Surely Lampard would be tearing his hair out with him and would have stopped playing him there is he keeps ignoring his position to that magnitude?

So your solution beyond 2 wingers & BTA is to play fullbacks out of position ? Rapha may not have been the answer but to not keep him even as a bench option is crazy.

Genuine question when 2 out of the starting 3 forwards are missing who fills in on the bench ?

I agree, just weird that EMC never does it when he plays there, so don't know why he'd tell Brau to do it 😂

I know people are worried about lack of depth, and we’re clearly going to see the current first XI worked into the ground before January. But Rapha, Bassette and Obikwu were never likely to make meaningful contributions this season and the Sheaf money should go on a marquee signing that could make all the difference in the next window. Over to you Frank…

How tall is Brau? Seemed to be a bit of a physical presence thing against Millwall. Agree that it’s very odd, just seems so bizarre for Lampard to put up with it if he’s not ok with it.

Two months ago it seemed inconceivable that we'd still have all three of Rudoni, MVE and Wright when the window closed.
We've kept them all, brought in 4 new ones, offloaded a few fringe players and sold a crock for £6.5m.
Meanwhile we're 8 points from 4 games, scoring for fun and bought the CBS.

I'll take that.
Stop talking sense we didn’t sign mbappe

Also haven’t you heard things like buying the CBS don’t matter because they benefit the owner…only actions that hurt himself are commendable duh

Here’s an interesting thought…who are the next youngsters ready to fill up spaces on the bench?

Moore and Dausch out on loan. So is Yearn and Obikwu.

I know we’ve got Perry and Sandiford but who are the next attackers coming through? Do we actually have any wingers in the academy? Can’t remember last one that came through.

We hear absolutely fuck all about the 21s/academy now.

Squad from Saturday, not really any worse off are we, Eccles comes in for sheaf and woolfenden in for Raphael, Raphael wasn’t getting mins anyway and he had BTA and saka in front of him, only slight worry is attacking options if EMC gets injured, no cover down the left without moving wright ?

It's part of the tactics, it depends who is going wide and who isn't.

Our in possession shape is a 3-1-6 with the 3 being the cb's and grimes, the 1 being Torp and the other 6 being the attackers and full backs and this means the full backs and wingers will from times find themselves in the inside forward channels

Just been looking at free agents, what about Josh Dasilva. Was apparently someone we were looking at earlier in the window. Jamal Lewis is also still available.
