Terrified of an EMC injury. Either have to change system or Haji goes out left and Simms has to play lots of minutes.
BTA has shown he can be adequate at RW to give tats a rest on occasion, but saka is going to need to stay healthy.

I really want to be positive, but we're in the same position as the last few seasons where 2 injuries at the wrong time and we're worryingly weakened.

Let's hope the physios are on their game

That’s probably the plan for now. It worked well last season at least.

The top priority for Jan is wide players and at least it’ll stop people droning on about the need for another striker.

Sheffield Utd now probably in a worse situation than we were when Hamer wanted the move away from us. I'd be sacking my agent if I was Hamer.

When they get rid of Selles they’ll be strong again.

How the actual fuck is Hamer still there.

The likes of Vini Souza and Ahmedhodzic managed to escape but he's still there. Definitely needs a new agent.

We shouldn't be leaving til today really. That's the problem.

A lot of deals seem to drag to today for various reasons, everyone waiting to see what they’ve got left before making decisions, agents holding out, prem clubs holding back on loans to see who they might need to keep etc. frustrating but is what it is

sure if the sheaf offer had come in earlier might’ve accelerated a midfield move but sounds like it only came in Saturday. I really like all the signings and not unhappy with the players let go, just feels we’re one or two light but time for some of the fringe lads to step up when given the chance. For example I think Andrews can be a player this season, not sure why lampards played him out of position in the cup which hasn’t helped though

Yeah you're right he'd be left out and we'd be playing Jamie Allen instead

Pretending that just because he started the season on the bench he'd just be getting 5 mins every few weeks is just weird

Sheaf spent most of the season either injured or recovering from injury. Barely played double figures full fit this past couple of seasons.

He played more minutes last season than:

Wright
Torp
Dasilva
EMC
Allen
BTA

And we're just gonna pretend we was barely going to feature this season?

No, Grimes doesn't miss any games and he isn't any good in the role that sheaf is playing.

When Grimes and Torp are available he wasn't going to start, to pretend otherwise is fucking weird mate.

He was at this stage firmly a back up to Grimes.

Feels a strange window and without sounding pessimistic not sure how we expect to get through to Jan without picking up some injuries.

Frank will have done a great job if we’re competing for promotion at the turn of the year but can we really say he has been backed this window despite being happy Milan, hadji and Rudi are still here?

Pick the players that had injuries, a LB that had form issues and other back up players.

He was great for us but he was the reserve CDM this season.

This is the whole purpose of a recruitment team. They should in theory have many many players identified. They have a lot of time to sort this out my friend. They fucked it. We move on.

I think it was Boddy, def someone from that era, who said they worked 12 - 18 months in advance based on potential scenarios for contracts ending, players leaving etc.

Robins woud say what type of player he wanted and they would come up with multiple options and basically work down the list until they got one.

If we could manage that when we were operating on a shoestring there's no way we should now be chasing one player with no back up plan.

If Deli Alli could get his head in the game again he’d be the best player in the league - think he’s only 28

Whilst I agree that the window has been mediocre - we don't know what we actually tried to do.
Difficult position for us where we are now likely going for players that lots of other teams are as well.
We could have had a number of irons in fires over the last few weeks and missed out on them all.....

Grimes hasn't missed any games so far, doesn't mean he isn't going to start picking up niggles as he gets older. Doesn't mean he isn't going to catch his studs in the turf and do his knee.

Torp wouldn't start every game if Sheaf was here. Yeah he's been immense so far this season and long may it continue but he will need a rest, and his form will dip. Sheaf would have got starts in games we need to be more solid, it's bizarre to say otherwise.

Just don’t understand why we haven’t at least brought a couple of loans in. Fair if we can’t get the permanent deals over the line but I’d have liked to think we could have brought in some decent quality loans especially with the gaps starting to show in the squad.

Wright is the only one on that list that makes sense as he was first choice last season. EMC was back up to Wright. Torp, Da Silva and BTA were largely fairly poor for the majority of last season and Allen is way down the pecking order. Sheaf is simply not the player he was 2 seasons ago, and it's the constant injuries which has killed his career with us. He should never have been club captain either. It's fairly telling that our first big signing under Lampard was Grimes, which was a big fat nail in the coffin of Sheaf.

So you're 30 games is based on a non existent injury and him somehow getting picked over the vastly better in the role Torp?

Ok
