My suspicion on what we want to do is bring in Woolf, the mystery forward, Hughes and probably loan someone in to take Sheafs spot. Which would be great.
My gut feeling is we still miss out on Hughes as I think the Hull owner is the type to dig in and do irrational things.
I mean no talk of a bid even being accepted for anyone doesn’t bode well. Just keen to avoid Mowbraying the window up late on.

At this point it may be too late to spend it. We could manage without replacing Sheaf, but the CB situation really isn’t tolerable till January.
We've been in discussions for long enough to know what's going on and to have an idea who will cost how much.

Every player at every club has a price. It comes down to the quality of the players and how high we're willing to go. I'd be very surprised if we don't manage to bring any players in.

I'm fairly chill because honestly buying the ground has just lifted me completely. It's huge for this club.
I don't think we'll completely fuck it but if we do there's still a lot of good will for me.

If we pull off 2 or 3 proper signings tomorrow I’ll be amazed. But if we can sell Sheaf in a matter of hours we can buy in the same timeframe.

That in itself suggests that King’s succeeded in attracting serious investment from outside. Which perhaps explains the amounts we’ve been offering despite the lack of sales.

It’s not been a better time to support CCFC since the turn of the century

can we all spare a thought for o hare, bottom of the league, getting booed off and now his Best mates off to PSV. such a shame
He made his decision in life. Took a big pay rise to join a club that at the time looked in a better position than ourselves for promotion.

Best mates? They've argued on the pitch a couple of times recently. Wouldn't be surprised if Sheffield United are shafted financially with their recent transfer dealings. Selling their best players and replacing them with loans with only League 1 experience. On top of this bringing in a manager not good enough to turn things around.

Oh well. Never mind.

Speaking of the King:

ESB gave a letter to the postman
He put it in his sack
Bright early next morning
He brought Earlsdon’s letter back
Sheaf wrote upon it
Return to sender, address unknown
No shirt number, no such zone
They had a quarrel, a lover’s spat

Truth is none of truly knows how things will pan out or what actually our budget is or what is potentially lined up.
All the speculative bollocks provides constant entertainment though.

I'm hoping we will buy Hughes and Wolfenden and get the Chelsea lad in on loan, which would be an excellent window for us. I think it could happen
Would be a great window for us but can only see either Woolfenden or Hughes being signed out of the two. Can see us having to go as high as 10m for Woolfenden and even more for Hughes.

Reading between the lines it looks as if Hughes is a no go but Woolfie a real possibility.
We haven't got anyone from our feeder clubs Swansea and Peterborough this season.
Doug is a last minute sort of guy who gambles to get the best deal.
If Sheaf really was last minute out of the blue, our options to replace him may be limited.
At present, our back up players look a bit thin. Better than in previous years but we are a Grimes or Rudoni serious injury away for buggering up the season.
