Think you can see the value of Hughes when hes out of that squad tbh.

On Leicester more concerned over the performance against Charlton. Will be interesting to see them play one of the teams predicted to do well

Rudoni wouldn't go there and we wouldn't be daft enough to sell.

That's a pretty huge loss for them really at this stage of the window.

And not for 12 mill. Rudoni is getting better and by the end of the season if his stats are the same be twice the value of Azaz.

A lot of Leicester fans are resigned to thinking all they'll bring in are loans at this stage, if that.

Seemingly the money just isn't there, despite raising £50m thus far.

Was reading that due to finances the club can’t really replace on the wages you’d expect and are apparently looking to fill gaps with yout. Not sure how true

They can't afford to spend significantly on transfer fees and wages will still be an issue due to having several high earners still on the books.

Along with the loans from Macquarie, all of what they've received so far in terms of fees will have been earmarked towards payments of owed transfer instalments after spending relatively heavily last summer as well as to cover operational costs throughout the season.

Leicester needed to sell to meet PSR requirements, but that has been satisfied now.

Currently Kristensen, Faes, Okoli & El Khanous are linked with moves away. Leicester will be able to reinvest those fees, although not to the value they get (wage and fee wise).

So one journalist claims...

You have to wonder if they actually have, or whether that's a tactic to put themselves in a more favourable negotiating position in an attempt to up the fee given how many PL clubs are seemingly desperate for attacking midfielders and are actively looking at El Khannouss.

Their wage bill will still be massive as they've only ridden themselves of a few high earners.

They'll still be accountable for the breaches of the FFP rules for the PL & the last time they were in the championship.
As part of the EFL breach, they'll have to submit a budget for this season showing how they are staying within the rules. They can "spin" any story they like, but the submission to the EFL will show the true situation and the clock is ticking on that!

To make matters worse it's reported Hackney has demanded to move if a PL club comes in for him.

Although I'd imagine Boro will dig their heels in though on that and would likely take a monstrous fee.

His agent must know a bid is likely for Hackney to have even raised it with Boro ….

Azaz would have been fine staying there, but Gibson can’t resist turning a quick profit. It undermines them every season.

I would imagine that's why it's been leaked to the press. It's a 'come and get me' plea.

They accepted £20 million for him from Ipswich so a Prem team can probably undercut that if he wants to force his way out.

He played very well against us certainly but we also made him look good really by giving their defence too much time to organise. Much as we did with Ballard, he's nothing special.

When we played Boro at home in that crucial match I noticed that Lampard went straight to Hackney after the final whistle to talk to him for a little while … I thought then if we go up City will try to secure Hackney.

We will never know but Frank tends to focus on our players first not the opposition players immediately after the final whistle.

Not sure. While he clearly has his eyes set on a PL move, hence why talks with Ipswich probably broke down, Boro wouldn't be able to feasibly replace at this late stage which would surely incentivise them to dig their heels in.

Then again the PL club would know they'd have an unhappy player on their hands so could be a six of one half a dozen of the other scenario.

That was my feeling. As we know ourselves when a player is determined to leave for the top flight the best you can do is negotiate hard.

It's a tough situation to be in. I still think a PL club would need to meet their valuation, but realistically they'd hardly struggle if they were keen to land him.

I do wonder whether Azaz wanted out as well. Boro fans seem to think he did.

It's now difficult for apremier club to go for Hackney. A club like West Ham really need new faces in as their start has been horrendous, but fans will think it's a joke to be buying from the championship. They will want a know foreign player that costs about 40-50 million. Maybe a Burnley could go for him but he would know he would possibly wind up in the championship next season.

That's why Rudoni, if true, is smart to stay with us for another year, learning from a master, and if we go up he can get the premiership experience. On top of that, if we miss out he could possibly go to a midtable premiership club with recommendation from FL. On another topic, did Rudoni ever get the go ahead to play for the USA? Man he could be a star turn for them and when he wants retirement could earn big bucks.

Shmmee said "We’re just renting it for a very long time." No it's a very long lease. No different to every flat, apartment in the country, I am sure their owners don't see themselves as renters. That SISU were obsessed with the freehold is just another instance of them being over-dogmatic and intent on importing American business practice to the UK regardless of the local situation. It took them nearly a decade to work out how to run a football club which shows a blinkered mentality to say the least.

A 230 year lease gives the Council some protection legally in a strategically important bit of real estate. If they want a better return, maybe invest in some better infrastructure.
