Personally I would rather miss out on a player no matter how good, than encourage those kind of deals. A) it could encourage the big selling clubs to try this more often, and B) it would take away a critical source of potential income for the smaller clubs. To be fair I'd be worried, if Sheaf picks up the phone to his agent to let him know he's going to Ipswich he might pick up an injury! Same with Collins I heard he got a call from his agent saying he's going but apparently he missed his call

If he was a 'top' CB there would have been interest from Prem sides. If he was a 'top' Championship player the top Championship sides would have been interested at a fair price. But Manchester City have had their pants down if what has been reported is correct.
