Lose BTA? We lose a headless chicken.
Lose Simms? On last seasons display not a massive loss.
Lose Wright? That's why we need another striker.
Norwich have lost 34 goals from the teamare you being serious?
watford
norwich
West Brom
All had good windows
then you have the likes of Ipswich, saints and Leicester who will all be up there
then Sheffield Utd, boro, Wrexham and blues
the league is wide open and stronger than last season
I'm surprised we haven't heard anything regarding a new CB after we sold Binks.
Unless Lampard is happy that Lati and Perry will be 2nd CB pairing, it's something we desperately need.
I don't think we will get anything near autos even 3/4th that some are predicting with the current pairing even with Rushworth.
Not panicking but clubs leaving it later again. No need to panic. There were 2 consecutive games this week which the club were concentrating on. I expect at least 1 more arrival next week and a few more by the end of the window.

If we can bring in a pacey CB, a both sided winger and a striker in that order then I would say we would be up there challenging. They are the priorities I would say after pre season.
There was that mysterious £15m investment. Was it to cover operational costs, a transfer kitty or maybe a bit of both?Ah sound, cheers for that, didn’t realise the exact figures but now I know! So provided we’re not £39m in debt from the last 3 years we’re technically allowed to buy players? I realise Doug is trying to keep the club financially sound, which is clearly great, but it’s possible we can buy a few players if we’re at £0 or even making a slight loss (not saying that’s right or wrong, just that it’s physically possible).
Really then it comes down to whether taking that gamble of injecting more cash and having a boosted squad now to get us into the prem (to then recoup the prem money later) is the right move to make, or whether we should keep trying to make it through the play-offs which minor flaws in the team, realistically those seem to be the two options.
The goals didn't mainly come from them 2 though. We had our best run of the season with BTA and Simms up front and Wright injured

In terms of the squad as it is now, I’m okay with where we are at. We finished 5th last season when effectively giving up a quarter of the season at the start, so consistency is where we need to improve massively IMO.
I would be keen to add players in some positions, we do need (listed in priority IMO):
ST
RW
CB
I am still not convinced that the strikers we have are good enough for a team competing in the top two of the league.
Saka needs backup and there looks like a player in Rapha, but I’m not sure he’s ready.
We need a LCB to upgrade/compete with Kitching.
See I’d have to review as I remember a few games where they scored all the goals like Wednesday where Simms got both and then Swansea where they both got oneThe goals didn't mainly come from them 2 though.
All those players you mention are the exact same players all clubs want. That's why they take longer to find and to actually signNot panicking but clubs leaving it later again.

Out of all the games Wright missed how many games did neither of them score in?See I’d have to review as I remember a few games where they scored all the goals like Wednesday where Simms got both and then Swansea where they both got one

Again how many games did Wright miss and how many games didn't they score in?4 straight wins.
Asante 3 goals,
Simms 2 goals,
Torp 2 goals

We are not competing for 10th , we are competing for the playoffs as a standard minimumWe’re not competing in the top 2 in the league.
We’re competing for between 4th and about 10th

Top 2 is not unattainable albeit it’s going to need a lot of good fortune for anyone to get in ahead of the sides relegated from the Prem last season. We’re not competing in the top 2 in the league.

Maybe somebody like derby will be competing for 10th , that would be regression for us
It would, and that’s because we’re a well run club.
But are competing with Boro, WBA, Norwich and the like.
Not Ipswich and Southampton.

Our transfers over the last 3 years are good. We haven't lost £13m a year. Anyone who says they know what's going on is taking a shot in the dark. We know we're still looking to strengthen. What we don't know is if anyone will be sold.
Dovin was pretty much MOTM in all those games, and you're right we played 352, because EMC, Wright and Sakamoto were all injured.During that run we did play a completely different system, had Dovin in goal for a lot as well didn’t we? Also, definitely rode our luck in some of the games!
Not Ipswich I agree. But nobody knows how Southampton will do. There's a lot of unanswered questions. It would, and that’s because we’re a well run club.

Middlesbrough, WBA and Norwich could all struggle this season. Nothing I have seen has given me much to worry about. I wouldn't be surprised to see WBA mid table.
Clutch those straws mateTop 2 is not unattainable albeit it’s going to need a lot of good fortune for anyone to get in ahead of the sides relegated from the Prem last season.
Leicester have been very restricted in (only Begovic is the only new arrival) what they’ve brought in and Saints with a new manager, never having managed in this league and potentially losing one of their best players could be considered vulnerable.
If any of these two sides struggle at the start it could open a gap to the chasing pack, which as you’ve alluded to is more likely where we slot in.
He's usually out to play with his little lap dog Mcgraw
Thomas Kitching Lati and Perry is not good enough for what we want to do this year. We need at least 1 more starting calibre centre back. The obsession to find a better centre back than our best centre back is weird .
If Perry ,as looks likely , is going to be given time then Lati can't be third choice we need a solid third centre back to compete with Thomas and Kitching
That team finished in the top 6It's been a strange window, we have bolstered the squad in the fullback area but not improved the starting 11. You can pretty much guarantee the starting line up against Hull, keeper aside, will be players who were here last season.
I’ll take any I can getClutch those straws mate
Grimes is a better defensive minded ' quarterback' who doesn't give the ball away or get caught in possession as much as Sheaf. Torp is a better creative midfielder looking to pick forward passes. So where doe Sheaf fit in? He slows us down and when Grimes is playing he's effectively a passenger. Why the slagging off of sheaf? He’s the last of our worries
