Injured at Leicester, full season at Norwich and both managers saw enough in him to play at right back which is not his best position just to get him in the team. Buying Doyle, if affordable would be similar to a Rolex in as much as it would be cash neutral with the chance of making a good profit. For someone like Doug thats the cold sort of business decisions he likes and the kid is desperate for a stable club rather than loans. Like I said before though it aint my money.PUSB

In fairness, £5m is more than £3m. I don't think he's worth £10m though, and we can't afford £10m on a defender so it's moot anyway. A loan with an option/obligation to buy if promoted is entirely possible though.Haha! When was the last time we had a centre back with pace? Rose is the only one I can think of. Pacy CBs tend to play in the premHe might be, just not convinced he's the answer to the problem we have i.e. too many goals conceded from quick transitions. Hope there are no significant outgoings in the window now, fringe players OK but at this point it's better to hold on to core squad members like MVE.Besiktas are going to push hard to get MVE apparently. I feel his sale will trigger the next lot of signings for us.

And what level have you played at out of curiosity?This notion that you need to be rapid to be a good centre half is bullshit peddled by people that have never played the game.
II would rather have a slower centre half who can read the game and is excellent positionally than a quick centre half who struggles with those attributes
