When we beat Leeds at home last year Patrick Bamford gave the most useless performance I've ever witnessed by a forward, and I'm including that time Yakubu pulled his hamstring and didn't leave the centre circle.

I’ve just seen on the same website that we signed Tanaka a few weeks back for £40m.

Kept that one quiet but that’s good business as he was one of the best in the league last year. Lampard is cooking
People on this forum sharing these sorts of websites make me realise why internet scammers trying to use your bank account to deposit their 20bn Naira lottery winnings are still about.

If you want a forward who has great first touch, links the play and scores headers from crosses then a fit Bamford does that …. But the last bit is the problem, his fitness track record is poor.

Id take a gamble on him but it would have to be a deal structure that reflects the gamble you are taking … heavily appearance and output based.

What people mean is that we don’t have fans giving inside info anymore …. There will always be leaks to the press that’s how Agents create a market for their players.

Yeah, I reckon the final straw was when the there was a team sheet leak and Lampard was visibly fuming after the game. Might be a bit frustrating not having an early heads up on transfers or team sheets but ultimately they hurt the team/club so it’s good it’s stopped

I don’t remember that but would be interested to see the interview if anyone remembers what game it was.

Millwall had a bid accepted for around 2 million for alfie Doughty from luton. Remember the murmurings of an England callup?

Try and flog bidwell and JDS and think we should try and hijack

We can assume movement will happen this week, FL should be getting close to knowing his 11 for Hull. How much happens i think now depends on the exit door we need some last seasons match day squads to move on.

Other thing to watch out for is the teams on Wednesday and Saturday. If we are still picking 45 mins each group then its minutes exercise if we see different could be an indication of what we will be looking at going forward.

Difficult question.

If we knew who is about to leave we would have a better idea on what's needed to balance the side. As things stand our best striker has been struggling with fitness all year and its nearly August. To me the top priority is a striker who knows where the back of the net is.

Anyone we bring in should be with a view of being in the 1st team straight away like our last 2 signings. Does Bauer fit this?

All the signings ought to be players who can fight for a starting berth from Day 1.

I don’t think we’ll sign a striker nor is it the number 1 priority imo. The question should be how we get BTA or Simms back up to their 23/24 stats. Do that, and it’s serviceable until Haji is 100% fit and ready. Looking at someone like Tyrese Campbell, he only scored 10 goals last season.

We really need Rudoni to carry on his goal scoring from last season as well as goals out wide from EMC and Sakamoto too.

A few have gone from Luton hopefully getting set for a nice long stay in league one or hopefully lower.

I am surprised at that price half of the league aren’t after him.

BTA really has to start to make a tangible contribution to a game. I can't be bothered to find the stats but I'd imagine he started the majority of games during that season for West Brom.

Apart from the Middlesbrough game at the end of last season I don't actually remember a time where he had any impact when coming off the bench. He's not clinical enough really to be that kind of player.

The circumstances of the Middlesbrough game suited him perfectly, where they'd pushed right up looking for an equaliser. More often than not we're playing against teams defending a lot deeper, and he just doesn't have the right skills to be particularly effective against that.

And that’s exactly what we should be looking for when bringing someone in.

he's more of a winger who plays wing back than a left back

To be honest, none of our strikers are particularly proficient against teams which deploy a low block.

Undoubtedly it's also something the coaching staff need to look at from a tactical standpoint as to break a low block ultimately you need to move the ball quickly using width to stretch the defence, exploiting overloads in wide areas taking on defenders and have your striker/s making runs in behind.

We don't do this which is why you often just get this side to side pendulum swing until we lose the ball and get caught on the counter - see Derby away.
