Due to lack of transfer news - just bumped into Brad Collins at tip clearing out loads stuff from his car….. wonder if he’s preparing for a move!
Interesting if involved later also?
Hardly a panic sale, it was a very good price for player we paid nowhere near that amount for and allowed us to reinvest into make the squad stronger. We couldnt afford to turn it down so it was a panic sale.
If we knew he was going to go, we should have worked on a replacement from his initial demand to leave.
I disagree that defines it as a panic sale, and very happy to agree to disagree too.We couldnt afford to turn it down so it was a panic sale.

Long term I agree its transformed the club. That season though we massively missed a midfielder for most of the year and it essentially put us a year behind not replacing him.I disagree that defines it as a panic sale, and very happy to agree to disagree too.
I'd love to live in a perfect world where we can have targets lined up ready to sign on the line before we've confirmed a sale, but i dont believe thats fully realistic.
The sales of Vik and Hamer have completely transformed the club and the squad, and made us more stable than we've been since I can remember. With Northampton matches still in painfully recent memory, I think its a little short sighted to be so disappointed by this particular issue!
I personally would have risked it and kept Hamer for the season and see what happens, but it's easy to say that when it's not my 20 million on the brink.
It's all part of the mcgraw anti DK agendaDeciding to accept the 3rd highest offer for a player in club history is not a panic sale, its sensible business acumen. Helped ensure long term stability and squad growth.
We've had some questionable player sales for pennies on the pound before, Hamer wasn't one of them.
How else would he identify him?Did he drop what he was carrying?
He's not the only one with this agenda and it's very strange. It's all part of the mcgraw anti DK agenda

YesIsn't this whole Hamer replacement argument wearing thin by now ?
We've got the 2 best right backs in the league, but also the 2 worst goalkeepers. Its a strange one. Let's hope the squad balance is fixed before the end of August, otherwise we've not learnt from last season.
Hadn't Milan, Sakamoto and Thomas signed before Hamer left?Prompts an interesting question though: we effectively ‘lost’ a season post-Hamer, with the lack of creativity / drive from midfield, but gained £15m.
Give or take, that £15m - arguably/ultimately - allowed us to bring in: MVE (£3.4m), Rudoni (£5m), Mason Clarke (£4.25m), Saka (£1.2m) and, say, Thomas (£2m).
So, assuming that’s ’the model’, are we all happy effectively ‘burning’ a season after the big sales - assuming that we wait for the right replacements and the longer term trajectory of the club is positive (which is seems to be)?
For me, it’s a resounding yes - but we need to remember that after the next big sale: MVE, Rudoni, Wright etc - that £15m is now, conservatively, worth £30m/£40m, and we’re a better overall team for it.
It was obvious to everybody that Hamer and Gyokeres were very likely to leave should we not have beaten Luton, it was hardly a revelation.
This is correct, but the story about them announcing it on the coach leaving Wembley is an urban myth created on this forum. As with most myths the more it is repeated the more people later view it as fact.
The same happened with the stories started on here about Hamer being homesick and holding out to join Feyenoord to be closer to his kid, with some posters insisting as a result we should take a reduced fee to accommodate him.
Wilson is not great but the worst with Collins ,I have to disagree , thought Collins and the French keeper at Leeds were the worst keepers in the Div last season. You think Wilson is the worst keeper in the Championship bar Collins?
The problem wasn’t selling him, it was not making plans to replace him the moment Dabo sent his penalty into orbit. He was quite obviously not going to stay beyond the summer. Why did we sell him without a replacement lined up?
Totally derailed that season.
Some people have taken it that Hamer effectively handed in a verbal transfer request on the coach on the way home.It was obvious to everybody that Hamer and Gyokeres were very likely to leave should we not have beaten Luton, it was hardly a revelation.
Hamer told Robins he wanted to go.Some people have taken it that Hamer effectively handed in a verbal transfer request on the coach on the way home.
Again, even if he didn’t, it would be incredibly naive to assume he wasn’t going anywhere. Yet based on Robins’ comments I think they really thought he’d stayHamer told Robins he wanted to go.
There's no evidence Hamer approached Robins on the coach on the way home and told him he wanted to leave.Hamer told Robins he wanted to go.
Yes there is.There's no evidence Hamer approached Robins on the coach on the way home and told him he wanted to leave.
Didn’t robins say that’s what hapoened ?There's no evidence Hamer approached Robins on the coach on the way home and told him he wanted to leave.
Only once the coach got close to McDonalds on the service stationDidn’t robins say that’s what hapoened ?
I remember Robins doing an interview on 5 Live where he said that both Hamer and Gyokeres were telling the others on the coach on the way back from the 2023 Playoff Final that they would be leaving; is that not the case?
Fucking VAR againEveryone at the club knew Vik was off tbf
Robins confirmed this in person at the Bedworth supporters club. I was there and he 100% said itThere's no evidence Hamer approached Robins on the coach on the way home and told him he wanted to leave.
Its a shame. Hamerpilled cucks are all around us on this forum.Robins confirmed this in person at the Bedworth supporters club. I was there and he 100% said it
Did he drop what he was carrying?
