If Hugo Eiktike leaves Frankfurt for £70m and Sargent leaves Norwich for £20m this will hopefully mean we can increase our valuation of Wright to at least £15m minimum as Frankfurt will have money to spend and we will have someone of similar quality to value him against.

The Frankfurt rumour was a wind up on here.

We will see. There is literally no point in Chelsea sending him out on loan with a view to a permenant

I love how the forum has identified him as a future prospect based on a YT video and we could pick him up because Chelsea and the rest of the footballing world haven’t realised he’s got potential.

Leeds bid for Langstaff is reputable £12m. If Newcastle sell and they coming knocking for Rudoni as a replacement, they are going to need to offer more than that surely?

Yeah definitely at least double. They're not the same position anyway. Langstaff is a centre mid, Rudoni is a number 10. Even if they or another team went for Rudoni, it's going to take at least £25m, especially with Rudoni having 3 years left on his contract. We're in a strong position in that sense. I can't see Newcastle paying £25m+ for a player that won't get into their starting 11.

Loan Watch

He wanted Gnanduillet to get us away from relegation. The same Gnanduillet that missed 3 sitters against Brora Rangers yesterday. Hes a joke. I’ve forgot which prediction is your latest Stay up or going down ? Which one is it today 😎 I’d still rather Gnandillet than Gyo 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️
www.skybluestalk.co.uk

Will we stay up ?

At the moment you can say Wycombe are probably out of it. But then SW only need a couple of wins and back in it. This is a fight till the last game of the season. The one team to keep an eye on is Huddersfield. They are in free fall.

Hopefully we can negotiate a termination. I think it's probably about a quarter of a century too late for that. Even a hitman is harsh. Hoping the club can cash in on the old insurance for him?

Never forget. I long everyday for his return

It was an interview with either Robins or Viveash. I'll see if I can find it later.

Was it Robins who said he wanted to leave on the coach after Wembley.

Deciding to accept the 3rd highest offer for a player in club history is not a panic sale, its sensible business acumen. Helped ensure long term stability and squad growth.
We've had some questionable player sales for pennies on the pound before, Hamer wasn't one of them.

They should've brought in a replacement before they did though. Wasn't until Torp signed in January that the position was reinforced. Although think we signed Ayari on loan, which didn't work out (was that post-Hamer?).

Spot on

Maddison and Hyam felt like panic sales to keep the financial wolf from the door …. Hamer felt like good business.

Ayari loan was roughly the same time Hamer left, yes.

We could easily have made a panic purchase and brought someone in for an inflated fee, and it felt like a gaping hole was never filled, but we'd also be slating the club for blowing loads of that money on a sub-par replacement if we'd rushed a signing that didnt work out.

Exactly that, Hyam felt like desperation to keep us afloat. Didnt that basically pay for the pitch to be re-done as we couldn't afford it otherwise?

Why did we sell him without a replacement lined up?

Totally derailed that season.

We had no choice but to sell him and we will never know whether we miss out on targets to replace him or not.

It’s also clear from Robins comments that Hamer played the edges. The club clearly thought they had a chance to keep him but he jumped at the first opportunity that came along.

It was weird tbf as we had bids for him by the Exeter game and Robins alluded that his head had been turned.

Think they thought he was going to go earlier than he did and left few options available.

Could of been handled better but that money was needed at the club imo and we did sign someone

Robin’s isn’t great with young players. Added to that a poor start to the season and the combination meant that Mark was always likely to
favour proven players to potential.

Interesting if involved later also?

Because we are not a club that could turn down £15million for a player with 12mths left on his contract.

It would have been wholly reckless to force a player to stay who had, by all accounts, expressed his desire to leave, and risk losing him for free the following season.

Yes losing him hurt us short term, but if we're going to avoid going back to the dark ages the club has to run in a financially responsible way too. And in my personal opinion, 24mths on we're in a much better place squad wise, and thats almost solely due to reinvesting Hamer and Vik sales.

I have no idea if it’s true but I do know that the manager said that he knew straight after the play off final that Gyökeres and Hamer would leave.
What’s out of context?

It was obvious to everybody that Hamer and Gyokeres were very likely to leave should we not have beaten Luton, it was hardly a revelation.

We couldnt afford to turn it down so it was a panic sale.

If we knew he was going to go, we should have worked on a replacement from his initial demand to leave.
