No that random. He’s just ran away managing the team who just stormed their league.

he has Managerial experience unlike Deeney
They totally lost their way after Rob Edwards Left just after promotion. Tried laptop managers with a soft approach which didn't work then totally over corrected by hiring nutters like Deeney and Big Dunc. Don't actually think Savage is a bad shout considering.

Wilson kept 20 clean sheets 2/3 seasons ago. He’s a passable goalkeeper to keep it solid until Dovin comes back.

I’ve not said there isn’t better keepers than him in the league - my point was merely that he’s an average championship keeper. I clearly worded it poorly.

There’s no need to splash cash we don’t really on a keeper when there’s more pressing concerns

now if we’d had Collins as the replacement - I’d be very concerned, and would agree we need a new keeper
Wilson would be totally acceptable if it wasn't for the constant mistakes. What's the use of us being on top of a game and scoring 2 goals when our opponents get 2 shots on target and scoring 2 goals?

In what crazy world would a team be expected to have 4 keepers. If we don’t offload Wilson or Collins one of them starts the season. Because the alternative is that a few short months later we have four “first choice” keepers on the books and that would be madness.

How on earth can people be overly critical of Wilson. The season before last he was the best in the league and last season was horrendous for him due to injuries, it was very stop / start. Maybe it is because he always plays the clown and so people don't take him seriously. When we got promoted a few season ago life was less serious because expectation was not as high as now. People expect us to challenge this season and with Wilson's personality maybe they tired of his antics and wish for him to be more serious.

He absolutely was not the best in the league

I'm sure clubs will be queueing up to take the 'best in the league' for the peanuts he would be available for then.
The blindness some of this fanbase has for Wilson is wild to me. He's so poor and if we go into the season with him starting something has gone wrong.

Thank you Mrs Wilson.

For me his humour and general good vibes are the only reason I am not disappointed he is still on our books, ideally as a 3rd choice emergency goalkeeper.

Whilst the argument for another keeper ranges on, I would ask those one question who are pushing for another keeper, who would you bring in?

Take into account, FL is going to be pushing for top six or even promotion places from the offset, is there a ready made keeper in the Premier League who will be available to drop in the Championship, have a suitable wage demands and have the experience necessary to be a steady replacement until Dovin returns?

Realistically the answer is no.

Haha best in the league? Get out of Wilsons arse for a minute - the defence helped more than anything that season

I'd look at a loan personally, unless there is someone on a free who is willing to become backup once Dovin is back to full match fitness.

The same rubbish argument is made every time someone suggests an upgrade is required in any given position. It's really not up to fans to figure out the 'who?' If the recruitment department couldn't find anyone better than Wilson and Collins either on loan or on a free I'd be staggered.

He was the Golden Glove winner that season, no? Whilst I agree the defence as a whole contributed, Wilson was recognised statistically as the best GK based on the number of clean sheets. Does it mean he was the best keeper, probably not, but he deserves a little more praise than he’s getting on here.

But it’s up to the fans to decide whether a player is good enough after only seeing them for 90 mins in an entire week?

Shall we talk about every other season in his career?

You said that it’s not up to fans to figure out who, but my point is fans are happy to write off players who aren’t good enough for the club.

My point being is fans don’t see everything, Lampard and his team will decide if any player in question is worth replacing if they aren’t up to a suitable level and if he chooses not to do this, for whatever reason, then best to trust his judgment.

Well yeh fans are allowed an opinion on a player they've watched for 5 years ffs, what's that got to do with anything?
I would say your average fan could tell the difference between a good keeper and a poor one but i am starting to worry on that front.

You mean he had defenders that constantly got him out the shite?

I don’t dispute that fans aren’t allowed an opinion, but as you’ve alluded to in your own reply some fans have very strange views on some players, so I would rather trust in Frank and his team to make the right call on this.

Personally I’d like another keeper, neither are adequate for a promotion pushing team, that being said I don’t know if there is a keeper out there that is going to come in and be the solution for us.

What are we arguing about then? The discussion is whether Frank will go for another because Wilson and Collins aren't very good. My opinion is he will.
It seems you agree so how you've managed to make an argument out of it I'm not sure.

I very rarely write off any player.

Simple question. How many times have you cursed Wilson for making yet another mistake that cost us a goal? How many points did he cost us and remember he didn't play that many games.

If it's Wilson to start the season then so be it. He will get my support. But i will shit myself every time the ball comes near him.

I don’t think we are going to be able to persuade a goalkeeper, one that’s better than Wilson and Collins, to come in and cover until Dovin is back. Stuck with them - no way would be spending any sort of money on it and there’s no way we will manage to shift Collins.

I’ve had to watch Wilson and Collins fuck up costing us goals left, right and centre. There are 20 premier league clubs who will be looking to loan out younger goalkeepers. Bring one in on loan until January snd reassess then

Well this started when you said it shouldn’t be for fans to name an adequate replacement when I asked a general question to those urging for a replacement for Collins or Wilson.
