Couldn’t find him or didn’t want to? It’s hard to trust a ball into someone when it just bounces off them.
This is the problem with Simms. If he is not scoring, he does nothing else. He can’t hold the ball up, struggles to bring others in to play and he can’t/wont run channels.

If what you were saying was true, then how come we have no problems finding the others?He does run channels the same as Wright BTA and EMC but the midfield are too slow in releasing the ball or spotting the run. It's why we get caught offside so often. Don't blame individuals for team problems.
We're ahead of Norwich in the pecking order now.I'm not going to get too excited yet about the prospect of Bertaccini signing, given that reportedly Norwich and Southampton are both after him as well.
Southampton have got the financial muscle to outbid us on fees and wages and Norwich probably can if Sargent goes.

He offers very little. It can only be positive if we are looking to upgrade the CF department.
I just always felt he had a bit more and it needed unlocking, but i'm starting to question if it can be unlocked. I think BTA has more interest than Simms. Said before i'd be happy to shift both but i'm assuming Simms stays, so lets hope someone can do something with him.That's my take as well.
He looked decent at times in the season before last and certainly scored enough goals to keep most of us happy. I don't know why he was so poor last year, other than the fact that I still believe that if his confidence dips because he isn't starting or isn't scoring he almost looks as if he has given up. I'm not saying he has given up - that would be a terrible thing to say about a professional footballer - but to me he gives that impression.
I would love him to prove me wrong but I don't think we can go into another season with him as our main striker. If we keep him and get someone else as well then I just hope it works out for him.
