I can't see it myself.

If we offered £25,000 a week towards his wages, which is about top whack for us, it's only one sixth of what he earns. I can't see his present club being happy with that.

I'd love to be proven wrong 👍
Its better than what they ar egetting at the moment for him

We definitely need a couple more, but its a balance on what the plan is for the player we sign.

McConnell at Liverpool, Sam Sam Rak-Sakyi at Chelsea. Who probably need loans out and would consider moves if they could get game time.

Others like James at Leicester and Armstrong at Everton are another 2 both young, both further down the road on careers than the other 2 named.

Or we go for Harrison Everton, Neil Sunderland, JWP West ham, Cairney Fulham, who are types you know what you get.

Other than that its paying a fee for a player who you see as a prem.player.

I definitely think Doug is still working on a few deals.

Son is at Ryton with his father. Father and son looking forward to this next chapter…
I heard his dad was less enthusiastic and urged his son to be cautious and think about it a bit more.

I've been provided with the exact transcript:

"It's not time to make a change. Just sit down and take it slowly. You're still young - that's your fault - there's so much you have to go through."

If we'd signed a player who hasn't played higher than League 1 in our position you'd be complaining. Like you have non stop about the "Barnsley boys" or Jamie Allen.

FP spectacularly missing the point as always.

Not the sort of signing that Doug likes

I agree, but Doug now has to have his short term goal of promotion as priority. . From that point he has every goal, short, mid and long term in his own hands.

I just think today short term goal is priority and over rides philosophy, structure and model. Once you get the money from promotion then go back to the the business mantra whatever that is.

Not quite... Allen scored against us, the season before he signed, from a Burge fuck up on a Friday night... we were both L1.

He had played championship football though. As for that matter has Kitching and Collins. Just a very weird post all round but he’s like this when he gets triggered and thinks he’s got something.

One thing we learnt. The Korean kid just popped out the wordwork, no ITK lead, so they work that way. However, the Palace lad was mentioned a few weeks ago so someone knows something. In conclusion, ITK know nothing apart from the ones that know something.

Well the two so far fit the model. Possible signing details have originated from their clubs or agents leaking the information, which appears on social media and is picked up on here..
Esse, young with scope for improvement. England youth international that may be available to buy if we get promoted.
Yang, ditto only full S Korea international, possibly available for further loan if we get promoted.

I think we are now seeing what Brighton evaluated on what they had and what he could be. Unfortunately all the will in the world, he is not a top prem forward.

Would i have him back,, FFS id run down to Lindon and give him a piggy back all the way to the CBS.

Those Harrison,Neil & Cairney players you mentioned all have football teams as their surname - that's mental

Watching Gyokeres play for Arsenal makes you realise just how hard it would be if we were to go up this season. The difference in level is staggering.
It is, but also - Arsenal signed a centre forward who runs channels and drives at players. Only to be shocked that he doesn't link play and is ineffective when you just pump crosses and corners into the box.

I watched tonight and actually felt sorry for him.

His insistence on preferring to join Arsenal always seemed a bit strange to me - maybe he'll adjust to the way they play, but it's so far removed from his natural strengths as a player that it seems a tall order.
He obviously thought he'd have much more chance of winning things with Arsenal rather than Manure
