Really think we're missing out if we don't bring in Charlie Hughes for the reported 10m. Someone that will play a significant role in the premier league let alone our promotion push.
Hull are 7th and only five points behind Boro, you’d of thought they would be keen to keep all their best players, including Hughes to sustain their push for the playoffs or even automatic promotion. This will put Hughes out of our reach as they won’t sell to a rival.

Hull’s punishment incentivises them to hold on to their best players. You couldn’t make it up really.

He'd look better at Yanited.

Not just because they had his old manager but they've often liked a strong direct forward.
Amorim would have played him in the same system he played in at Sporting Club.

He would have looked much better.

Re: Hughes

It would likely take something close the 20m their manager talked about to get him this window.

Hull are on a one in , one out embargo arent they? If they sold Hughes they would need to loan or buy someone much cheaper. Cant see it until the summer myself, despite them needing the money due to their current elevated position. Unless they take Lati as part ex :)

Thats not a bad suggestion. It would be really nice to go for it and get him this window

He doesn't fit their style at all but he needs to be doing a hell of a lot more. His movement off the ball was poor and he needs to actually anticipate and attack balls into the box.

He looks to have been instructed to hold the centre forward position (even though we all know that a lot of his strength has been picking the ball up on the wings and driving at the defence). If he stays in the centre forward position, yet the ball is passed to him only a couple of times in the whole game, it's hardly any wonder he looks ineffectual. I didn't see a single pass to him last night played through the lines to him where he would be facing their goal. I think the fault is the system rather than him (which they won't change, as they're clear at the top).

His insistence on preferring to join Arsenal always seemed a bit strange to me - maybe he'll adjust to the way they play, but it's so far removed from his natural strengths as a player that it seems a tall order.
Think he mentioned how Arsenal played when they battered Sporting away convinced him he wanted to join them. But an Away Champions League performance isn't the blueprint for how a team usually plays.

Rokas Pukstas would be a coup.

I would imagine if we do see another it would be more a defensive or box to box type midfielder in the 6/8 mould.

For attacking midfield we now have Rudi and BTA who arguably has played his best football this year in the 10 due to come back soon. Add to that Esse who has been playing this season at 10 (lower level yes) it seems we are well stocked.

Frank Onyeka has been playing well for Nigeria at Afcon but only played 6 times for Brentford this year. Played 31 times in the bundesliga for Ausburg on loan last season. Box to box/ defensive midfielder, could be shout.
Quickly googling to see what he's like

I think we need a Peterborough rumour. There’s usually at least one isn’t there? They got any decent players that MacAnthony can dick us around negotiating for all month?

I agree i also think Victor is suffering from player jealousy as well! He has received two passes to him the box in the last two games even then it was backs0

to goal and not down his left hand side? And yet when Jesus comes on as a replacement I counted at least 6 passes to him.

To be fair, Jesus does take up positions where he is more likely to get the ball in this Arsenal team than Vik does. It's as said by others a case of him just not suiting this Arsenal team yet and he not yet or at all being able to adapt to the Arsenal system due to it not suiting his strengths.

I hope this is a joke

Well the two so far fit the model. Possible signing details have originated from their clubs or agents leaking the information, which appears on social media and is picked up on here..
Esse, young with scope for improvement. England youth international that may be available to buy if we get promoted.
Yang, ditto only full S Korea international, possibly available for further loan if we get promoted.
According to a Palace supporting mate, Esse is not part of Glassner's plans. That implies he does not view him as potentially Prem standard.

So, two things: he's a loan and to a championship club so that doesn't matter. Secondly Frank's proven ability to improve players may yet prove Glassner wrong.
