He’s a far better footballer than people give him credit for. Can put in some great long passes, did one to EMC v blues first half and showed good touches and finishes recently

Yes I'd like to see him being more demanding. Rudi has had a lot of criticism recently but you can't deny he constantly wants to try and get on the ball.

Seems to be not a popular opinion on here at the moment but I don't think we really need to be targeting players who are going to make the starting 11 better. The main core of the squad have shown that they're by far the best in the division. The problems have only come because the lack of depth has been exposed over the past few weeks with the xmas schedule, flu, injuries and suspensions. I don't think we need to be looking at statement signings or anything like that. Rather, we need a number of rotational players who can come in, give the main 11 a break without there being too much of a drop off when the starters aren't in the side.

If we can get those players in, the main core rested and ready to go for the second half of the season, we'll be absolutely fine. Then we can invest for the appropriate league come summer.

All you have to do is compare our squad to the teams around us and they all have more depth.

It’s not just depth that we need though. If you’ve got Sakamoto, Rudoni, Wright and Torp who have had a few games with no goal involvements… you need to be to replace them in the starting 11 without a massive drop off in quality.

Esse is a signing that’s a statement and he’ll 100% start in our team. Presumably at RW but he’s played across that forward line. YMK is more a rotational piece likely to start if there’s injuries/suspensions and to make an impact off the bench.

Sakamoto and Haji in particular really aren’t pulling their weight at the moment in terms of goal contributions. You could group Rudoni here if we’re harsh but I’m inclined to be more charitable given that he was rushed back from injury and his shoulder is still an issue.

O'Nien from a purely footballing perspective wouldn't be my pick. But if you've got senior professionals swiping out and getting red cards at 3-2 down then there's the argument you need a leadership option off the bench see things through.

It's all about having different options for different scenarios on the bench to get this done

In other news I'd be surprised if Manneh signs for Birmingham now based on the reason we pulled out, i won't share the reason but it would surprise me if Birmingham risk it is what I will say!
