So would getting promoted with us… Which is no longer an optimistic hypothetical question, we’ve set ourselves up no whereby failing to get top 2 would be a complete failure.

One is guaranteed the other is highly probable.

However it’s also highly probable that Brentford will still be a Premier League club for the next few seasons, the same cannot be said for who ever gets promoted from the championship.

Our best players are going to get interest come Jan and some will be tempted by offers. Same as in the summer the same conversation that kept those at the club will be had again, but this time we are in a stronger position to convince the group to stick together.

If promotion is gained the wages for those key players will double or treble anyway. I expect we have to fight a few off and i dont doubt movement out will happen, i just doubt it will be our top players. We as a club and as a squad have sold players to reinvest to be in this position, no point now in going backwards to start again. Lets see only a few weeks away until we find out our true intentions.

Oh so you want him to gamble certainty for uncertainty …. It’s far from certain that Bobby smashes the Premier League, his distribution will have improve materially for a start.

There is money there because we sold Sheaf for £6.5m and were supposedly bigging up to £10-12m for Charlie Hughes as well as trying to sign players like Rak-Sakyi. There's money in the pot to play with and now that we're 10 points clear at the top, we probably could secure a loan with an obligation to buy upon promotion.

I'm optimistic we'll get the signings required to see the job through.

We really dont need Charlie Hughes

At this point, it’s about 90% likely we go up automatically. At this point, Brentford have a higher chance of going down…

I would much rather Rak-Sakyi than Manneh if the option for Crystal Palace recalling the loan was available. Tried tested and proven in this league who’s came up through an English academy compared to a dearer unknown

Got to be honest I haven’t been blown away by Manneh from what I’ve seen.

If the recruitment team that found Torp, MVE, Sakamoto, Wright and Hamer want him then I’m happy to trust their judgement.

Doesn't matter if he'd want to move or not.

We're not going to sell our most important central defender when we've such a good chance at promotion.

Thomas’ contract is up 2027 so end of the PL season, so you’d expect him to sign a new deal this summer. There’s a few actually:

Wilson - 2027
Sakamoto - 2027
Bidwell - 2027
Dasilva - 2027
Simms - 2027
Latibeaudiere - 2027
Thomas - 2027
van Ewijk - 2027
Kitching - 2027

Exactly, which is why Jan is the window to throw caution in the wind because a few of those names will definitely be attracting Prem interest this summer.

Get promoted and the finances sort themselves out.
