So would getting promoted with us… Which is no longer an optimistic hypothetical question, we’ve set ourselves up no whereby failing to get top 2 would be a complete failure.

One is guaranteed the other is highly probable.

However it’s also highly probable that Brentford will still be a Premier League club for the next few seasons, the same cannot be said for who ever gets promoted from the championship.

Our best players are going to get interest come Jan and some will be tempted by offers. Same as in the summer the same conversation that kept those at the club will be had again, but this time we are in a stronger position to convince the group to stick together.

If promotion is gained the wages for those key players will double or treble anyway. I expect we have to fight a few off and i dont doubt movement out will happen, i just doubt it will be our top players. We as a club and as a squad have sold players to reinvest to be in this position, no point now in going backwards to start again. Lets see only a few weeks away until we find out our true intentions.

Oh so you want him to gamble certainty for uncertainty …. It’s far from certain that Bobby smashes the Premier League, his distribution will have improve materially for a start.

Probably for much more than we would get now too, some of the Southampton side went for stupid money, considering that they hardly won a game

There is money there because we sold Sheaf for £6.5m and were supposedly bigging up to £10-12m for Charlie Hughes as well as trying to sign players like Rak-Sakyi. There's money in the pot to play with and now that we're 10 points clear at the top, we probably could secure a loan with an obligation to buy upon promotion.

I'm optimistic we'll get the signings required to see the job through.

We really dont need Charlie Hughes

At this point, it’s about 90% likely we go up automatically. At this point, Brentford have a higher chance of going down…

I don’t think we’ll pursue that signing in Jan either, brining it up was illustrative that there is money to be spent.

I would much rather Rak-Sakyi than Manneh if the option for Crystal Palace recalling the loan was available. Tried tested and proven in this league who’s came up through an English academy compared to a dearer unknown

If the recruitment team that found Torp, MVE, Sakamoto, Wright and Hamer want him then I’m happy to trust their judgement.

Doesn't matter if he'd want to move or not.

We're not going to sell our most important central defender when we've such a good chance at promotion.

Thomas’ contract is up 2027 so end of the PL season, so you’d expect him to sign a new deal this summer. There’s a few actually:

Wilson - 2027
Sakamoto - 2027
Bidwell - 2027
Dasilva - 2027
Simms - 2027
Latibeaudiere - 2027
Thomas - 2027
van Ewijk - 2027
Kitching - 2027

Our recruitment has been exceptional since Robins returned. Shown in our rise up the leagues.

Exactly, which is why Jan is the window to throw caution in the wind because a few of those names will definitely be attracting Prem interest this summer.

Get promoted and the finances sort themselves out.

From a financial perspective, you probably don’t sell players for a few million in a month, who could earn the club a lot more million in 6 months.
However there is a much stronger argument for a transfer like EMC (and many others).
Buy now, loan back until end of season.
Not convinced we’ll do it, but IF we think we can get better quality in the summer for the same money - it makes more sense.

Nobody will be sold in Jan. Maybe we allow Brau out on loan.

I think we'll see loans in. I don't buy the narrative that clubs will demand game time for their players. We are a massive fish in the league now, it's a real opportunity for prospects to come and be part of a successful project on the edge of success. Our squad is so small there will be plenty of game time to go around.

Then you could add loan to buy options and even the chance to lure someone more established but out of favour here for 6 months.

We are in a real good position but we definitely need bodies to see this through.

Neither Lampard or the players will want to leave in January. They're all loving the moment and are part of a squad that will be in the Prem by summer. It will be new contracts for those seen as having a part to play next season. The clubs interested in our players will be at the lower end of the Prem.

Why would anyone want to leave when they've got a chance of winning something in their careers to maybe sit on a bench somewhere or join a club that could easily end up in a relegation battle from where they will most probably end up next season?

Manneh looks good to me. If we'd signed fan suggestions over what we actually got over the years we'd be fucked. Maybe time to start trusting the club a bit.

I don’t want the 21 year old to who’s just been the best player in the title winning team in Sweden give me Jacob Murphy who’s 31 spent most his career in league 1.

It’s an interesting one cos there’s a few very good championship players who would fetch a fee but also cost a bit to replace and be decent backup if needed.
