In reality if we were proactive we could have done the surgery needed.

We could have loaned or sold one of Lati and got a CB in.
We could have sorted out the LB issue
Could have got a CM

Could have got rid of Brau, Bidwell, Andrews.

Our problems this season started when Doug didn't want to spend what we needed for Hughes
Looking back I think we should have just signed Kane, Mbappe and a few others. We could have gone up if we’d done that.

It's on King now. He didn't back the manager at all in the summer. Now we have a 3 month sprint from, despite recent results, a good position. Just fucking spend some money to kick us on a bit ffs. Best ever chance and we're pissing it away penny pinching.
I mean yes its a meme to call him Bling, but he is beginning to look more like a charlatan the more the season proceeds.

That looked like a goodbye from bidwell at the end, maybe LB in coming, but we’ve had all January to sort it, very surprised if anyone else comes in now, think we’ve gambled on this squad being enough, it still might be, but we could of made things a lot easier for ourselves

We have a couple of days so I'll hold my rage back until then but I just think if you can't throw a bit of caution to the wind and think "fuck it let's have a bit of a go" from the position we were in, when can you exactly?

No I agree.

I would have at least like to have seen us go for players who have a bit of experience getting out the league.

We are not getting out of the league next season. I know it gets thrown around a lot but it will be stronger without question. Even if we piss away top 2 would you not want the strongest team possible going into the play offs? We're still short at least 3 players that we should have got in the summer frankly.

Agreed. I know I brag about it a lot but I said we were short in the summer.

So did I tbf, we exceeded my expectations hugely up until December but I can't say I'm surprised we ran out of steam.
I think thats it and where my frustration lies, particularly with being told to wait until the end of this window. If we had no games in that time then fair enough, but we have pissed points up the wall this year.

They just look fucked physically and mentally, you have to inject new blood into that situation.

I think like someone said we need a Worrall type at the back, and Onyeka in the middle.

We need a mix of energy and experience.
Yes an experienced CB, Onyeka in the middle and a new LB preferably. Don't even think thats pushing the boat out too much in this position but unfortunately we'll get one of those tops.

Think we signed wolfenden for the experience, can’t even get in ahead of kitching or Thomas, never been a fan of lati but him and wolfenden were brilliant against Southampton, proper bodies on the line stuff,

Thing is we set up there to defend backs to the wall, its the total opposite to how we set up recently.

Yeah, we were down to 10 and had to, i meant more lati and wolfenden put eveything on the line, Thomas and kitching play like they know it doesn’t matter how they play, theyll be starting, they’ve gotten worse aswell

Play how lampard wants and Wolf and Kitching be exposed.

The recruitment department will be working very hard over the next two days to get some players in, fingers crossed we can get a decent CM in. Personally I would like to see us get a natural finisher in up front..... only my opinion but I don't think Haji or Simms are "natural" finishers.

Mmm one of the guys from That Cov pod tweeted something similar

It went around a whatsapp group im in thats had a couple of solid shouts (but also some howlers) that Frank and Doug had a bit of a set to over the Bamford rejection, and him banging in the goals since has led Lampard to be quite 'told you so'

Probs bollocks though

That’s probably just an educated guess. If the season is bottled as it now looks probable, I expect FL will leave and perhaps King may sell up.

I said before this month I wanted proven performers who you could count on to deliver a known quantity. Esse is that, YMH just isn’t and we’ve now spent millions on another prospect who isn’t even fit.

I meant going for players like but not necessarily Worrall, Onyeka, McCallum, fuck it even Hamer. I just can’t see this slump being reversed. We have looked a distant second best to a dreadful QPR team today, we have only one remaining away game like it and the rest are against sides I give us zero chance of beating on the road.

Best to start accepting this has been bottled and processing the disappointment now rather than continuing to hope for a miraculous turnaround.
