Which bit? That we didnt pay a fee? In 40 years of following football ive NEVER heard of such a thing. The borrowing club picks up a percentage or all of the wage dependant on the terms of the contract, but an upfront fee? To give your player some league experience and game time and ease your wage expenditure? Im not saying it doesn't/hasn't happened, but its highly irregular. Otherwise why isnt it spoken of in the articles released when signing a player?
"Obikwu is being sold for a fee of around £500k". Thats in the articles, but "Coventry sign Esse on loan" says just that! Not, "Coventry sign Esse on loan for an upfront fee of £X amount"!

No, but if they can reduce their wage bill for a few months and get some much needed game time for a player just sat on the bench, then why not? Thats the payment in itself. Especially for a PL club. We all know PL clubs collect youth players in the hope one turns good. Not like any PL club is that hard up paying Esse £15k a week AND need £150k in return of a loan out!No loan fee for Esse? Have Crystal Palace become a charity?
I'm sorry. but this is just isn't how it works. No, but if they can reduce their wage bill for a few months and get some much needed game time for a player just sat on the bench, then why not? He’s been playing LW thats why his defensive numbers arent the same as he only has to do the attacking side of his game, put him back in the 8 for us and he’ll blossom once again Im sureTwo years ago Hamer performed well for an awful side in the Prem. Last season he performed very well for a side that lost in the play off final.
This season he's kept his attacking numbers up, but his defensive numbers are pretty horrific and he looks out of shape. What do we need more, another attacking threat or a ball winner further back?
Millwall is the rumourBarry Bannan leaving Sheff Wed...
Barry Bannan: Sheffield Wednesday captain set to leave club
Sheffield Wednesday captain Barry Bannan tells team-mates that Saturday's game at Bristol City will be his last for the club.www.bbc.co.uk
Their results haven't exactly been good but I'd expect their performances to fall off a cliff without him in the side. He's the only player left of any discernible quality.Millwall is the rumour
Isn’t he busy undermining democracy and such?
Unfair on him for the first one he was targeted relentlessly by Luton without consequence and as expected had to go off injured, they did a number on him as he was the differenceBecause good tho he was in a pisspoor team, he wasn’t good enough to make the difference and keep them up.
The following year Ipswich gambled on loaning Kalvin Phillips rather than signing Hamer.
His subsequent performance in the championship only served to reinforce the point that the best player of the division wasn’t enough to get his team promoted.
The fitness issues are real. He was unable to complete 90 mins in two Wembley play off finals and - arguably - both incidents resulted in his team losing the final. Since the start of this season his physical appearance has seemed less athletic and clubs will know all about his rumoured refuelling habits.
He’s been in the matchday squad less than any other first team player. He’s never played more than 2.5k minutes in a season and is on 1800 ish so far.
King said that buying the stadium doesn't affect the transfer budget, or are you calling him a liar?I appreciate that we're concerned we've not secured quality CM player so far. Hopefully, that'll be addressed soon.
However, for those asking for DK to "splash the cash" need to consider the outlay he's already made this season in buying the stadium and the two recent loans. I'd imagine that Esse loan fee and wages will be significant.
Tell me you've not looked at the numbers, without telling me you've not looked at the numbersHe’s been playing LW thats why his defensive numbers arent the same as he only has to do the attacking side of his game, put him back in the 8 for us and he’ll blossom once again Im sure
when are folk going to learn that the manager and staff are not going to blurt out any transfer plans in the friday press conferenceFrustratingly, Joe Edwards has just told the Cov Telegraph that we have no obvious targets and that Frank previously told them he was happy with the front end of the pitch and midfield. It could be cryptic that we will never think of who they are eyeing up, that there just isn't anyone being eyed up or that defence is where they are looking to improve. So vague and uninspiring, but I get that they won't openly advertise what they plan.

It’s not that they need it, it’s that players like Esse will have multiple suitors and some will be prepared to offer more money. No, but if they can reduce their wage bill for a few months and get some much needed game time for a player just sat on the bench, then why not? Bar tackles and interceptions, his numbers are better this season than at his peak in 22/23 with us!
This was not the transfer window to be cautious, pretty sure we are trying at least on the CM.Hopefully something is bubbling away behind the scenes that no one knows about
iirc - we were pretty coy on signing Grimes this time last year and the news only broke when Swansea's manager said he expressed his interest in speaking to an unnamed club
What I mean is when we signed Grimes the club did pretty well to not let the cat out of the bag for a while, and hopefully the same is happening hereThis was not the transfer window to be cautious, pretty sure we are trying at least on the CM.
Did you read my last sentence?when are folk going to learn that the manager and staff are not going to blurt out any transfer plans in the friday press conference
Yes we did but try reading it yourself as the previous few sentences sounded like you were actually concerned .....Did you read my last sentence?

It’s been a long time, we need to accept he’s changed as a player.
Part of Hull's transfer embargo is, or so it has been reported, is that they cannot pay loan fees for a player. Why would would a practice that doesn't happen be embargoed?Which bit? That we didnt pay a fee? In 40 years of following football ive NEVER heard of such a thing. yes, it's a message to every c**t on here to not even mention the flat batting of the weakly "transfer" question .Did you read my last sentence?
He had a release clause in his contract last season?
