Bring him home.

If he comes back, he'll be going on the back of the shirt straight away, along side the Champions 26 shirt that I will purchase.

all evidence says wages make the most difference so with the SCR rules, revenue is what'll matter.

Isn't it "football" revenue so they are trying to stop creative accounting such as Chelsea selling real estate to other companies with the same owners?

Think so. It's a big vague but that's the term used.

You clearly want us to spend more than we can afford. If we overpay on one player then the rest of the squad want pay rises and it spirals from there.

Probably more ‘afford’ to be fair. Increased attendances and merch sales all help, but it’s a drop in the ocean compared to parachute money.

I am deeply fed up with the sheer hypocricy of people complaining about the money flowing into Birmingham (who bailed us out) or Wrexham (delete where applicable) when we all know we would love either of their owners to take us over. Both those owners have considerably deeper pockets than DK and it is patently obvious that shit loads of money is far more important to success than even the best manager.* DK has enabled us to get forward, but if you want regular Prem football you need a moneybags. Please see Ipswich, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland passim

* There has also been some recent search that indicates that the quality of the manager is not a key variable to success - See Liam Manning and Thomas Frank for recent examples

Both of those owners have artificially inflated the market by throwing money at it, and thus denying clubs run on a more sustainable footing the opportunity. Owners pouring unlimited funds into clubs is just financial doping.

The FFP rules are there specifically to stop clubs doing this, though there are massive holes in the regulations.

You say 'we' would welcome either owner; that is a rather homogeneous word to use for such a disparate number of opinions. I would not wish either of these owners, both have made the clubs something that in no way appeals to me, are embarrassing in their different ways, and like BSB, I see any success they achieve as hollow.

I prefer success to be earned, not bought, but each to their own.

If you think I'm a hypocrite for this, then you don't understand what hypocrisy is (hey, I can be patronising too).

Oh, and Birmingham didn't 'bail us out;' they accepted a financial transaction that was beneficial to them.

If you read my post you will see that I said they want someone different. What I read is that Wilder wants a bit more grit in midfield, which does sound to me just what Wilder would want.

I'm saying they want Hamer out to fund an incoming midfielder and you are interpreting that as me saying they want like for like. They don't.

I guess a lot of their revenue comes from the outside of the football stuff. So their main task will be staying relevant to keep that coming in. How long will foreign audiences remain engaged with it all? That's not a question btw, i don't expect you to know the answer, but that will be the challenge.

The thing is it’s not just ‘Rob and Ryan’ as they also have other investors and particularly the Allyn Family who now own a 15% stake in the club.

Google them and it’s fair to say they have a few quid floating around.

The other investors are irrelevant to what I am saying. Im talking about revenue. They are a small club, they need to remain relevant with foreign audiences which is where they get their most of their money from.

10 wins out of 18 gets us up, that’s how close we are, go and get hamer if there’s a chance, that pretty much gives us the squad to do it, best front line/midfield in the league already and he’ll make it even better,

But they will be able to drive this revenue through other means and it’s not just the Hollywood boys propping this up.

I would if their new stand, for instance, will attract a ‘named’ sponsor which will help even out some of their FFP? (Not sure if this is even allowed?).

My point really is that when you bring in billionaires into a business they are not just bringing their wealth, they are bringing their portfolio and contacts with them as well and as we’ve seen with Man City and the lack of action against their charges that unfortunately money talks.

Tbf there are lots of incredibly wealthy people that have completely ballsed things up when it comes to running a football club.

I feel the same another quality midfielder and strengthen defence probably LB this should be enough. I don't care what opposition fans think there's no other side with an attacking threat like ours it's ridiculous. Our midfield is definitely up there with the best and with another quality addition like say Hamer or Onyeka it would be. Our obvious weakness is defence but I don't think it's down to personal I think it's down to the tactics and how high the back line sits. Milan and JDS are constantly getting caught out almost in a winger position. It's risk and reward which has served us well and made us the most ruthless attack but I just think a tweak pushing the defence back a bit further and not be so Gung-ho would help us tightening up. Look at Ipswich they score a decent amount of goals but don't concede certainly lately and that's what will win them the title IMO. Watching Boro last night I wasn't overly impressed again and their defence looks suspect so if we tighten up we'll secure automatics.

I found it quite surprising that we approached Hamer (not suggesting Saddle made it up, it just seems a bit wild). If that is indeed true, then I guess it is probably him isn't it?

I'm not against it, I'm always saying you can't spend money you haven't got.

I have no idea no more that you do or anyone else on this forum with regard to what we can and can't afford, but I do know, individually, we've all gone over and above what we can afford when it's something we've really wanted provided we can recoup or tighten one's belt on something else.

i’d imagine so. I’m glad we made the move for him.

Be interesting to see who’s next on the list.

My main concern this window were primary targets not falling and us having to go with the dregs or nothing at all

My thoughts exactly. He has a broad enough skill set to do pretty much anything you’d want in the middle of the pitch.
