Because we get consistently linked in the press with players, reliable sources had us having bids rejected for tons of players in the summer, who then went on to sign for other clubs. The fact we couldn't sign a single winger despite it being incredibly obvious that's what we were trying to do. You obviously can't know exactly what happened behind the scenes but its pretty clear they didn't sign the amount of players they wanted to. The Hughes fiasco says it all, we appear to have dedicated significant time to bidding for a player that was never going to be achievable.How do you know that?
