I saw that at the time but I don't think it was entirely accurate from what I heard

from the telegraph..."Goalkeepers linked so far include Brighton’s Christian Walton and Wolves’ Matija Sarkic, although CoventryLive understands that, contrary to reports, the latter is not on the club’s radar."

bit weird. wasn't it the tele that initially linked us to sarkic??

That’s correct but it is also correct that a number of nearby clubs have not closed down due to the amount of time lost due to covid

Everyone needs a break at some point. The cat1 clubs work slightly different to the cat 2 and may have had some groups in, but then I know another has kept theirs out for an extra week.

Relax. Off season would be pretty boring without rumours wouldn't it?

Robins has done an interview and it doesn’t sound too hopeful :

Sky Blues boss Mark Robins explains slow-going transfer window

Sky Blues boss Mark Robins has been speaking exclusively to CoventryLive about the club's plans and frustrations in the summer transfer window

“There’s a probably a mixture of things going on. People are unaware of the circumstances around the finances of football, so I think people are holding out for more money to see if things change. But they won’t.

“So that’s one of the things that’s happening. Also, some of the players that we want won’t be available for a little while longer.

“We’re going to be looking at a couple of loan signings so we have got to wait for that.”

Ultimately I have wanted to bring in probably eight, maybe nine players but I might only get five.

“There becomes a balance in terms of which ones you do and that’s where we’re at. I can’t be more honest than that.

“We just have to wait and see how they fall, but we’re working.

He doesn't really say anything that wasn't expected.

The only slight concern is that we may only be able to bring 5 in, but he may just be trying to temper expectations.

Maybe its 5 if we are not able to get rid of more people.

If can offload mason, jobello, hillsner and kast , I would hope that frees up at least 2 more signings

Prioritising the attacking positions and the left flank.

Robins hardly sounds happy with how it’s going though and the belief some have that we’ve got a bunch lined up and ready to be announced sounds wide of the mark.

I mean when has any manager ever came out and said transfer windows were going easily.

"yeah pissing this window, loads of options all cheap but we have tonnes of cash so it's easy" Never gonna happen

Stay low key temper the nutty fans expectations and not show your hand.

Well Robins said he would've liked 8-9 so we obviously do?

I'd argue at a minimum we'd need 6 incomings.

The way the Telegraph have reported it makes it seem quite negative and often with MR, his written quotes seem more down beat than when you hear him actually say things.

The focus will be on comments such as 'it's been frustrating etc but he does also say we are in a 'decent position for things to come to fruition in next few days' so it's about how you want to interpret it.

Robins said our January business was done and we signed someone hours later. He says he might only get 5. That could be just Perm and we may well get more than that.

We've got to wait and see.
