Billy Beane, yeah he’s a small stake holder, he’s also got a lump of AZ Alkmaar too. But he isn’t involved in any of our majority owners other clubs just ours.

Going for a Moneyball recruitment strategy with our finances makes complete sense but because we're skint we can't attract the best Moneyballers in the business unlike Barnsley who I believe have the original Mr Moneyball on board. So some mistakes are inevitable

Law of averages too. Every team is going to make mistakes. Remember when Man U spent £8m on Bebe? Complete bust. Yet, it’s not a lot of money to them and potential reward outweighed the risks.

When we signed Hyam, did anyone think he’d be good enough to start for us in the Championship? I know I didn’t.

Our recruitment obviously has not been bad by any metric. We’ve gone from League 2 to Championship and surviving in four seasons.

After the way they seemed to have escaped cheating the system , don’t feel sorry for them one bit. Hopefully get what they deserve , although feel a bit for the fans of course

Agree although most of their fans seem to think they're still whiter than white & it's purely an EFL vendetta against them.

No sympathy for them at all and think it's one less relegation place.

Money and injuries aside. I think we do need a striker like Carroll. Only really got Györkeres who can play on his own or as a target man and he’s not the best suited to it.

Few rumours circulating that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Maddison and are now set to submit a bid of around £60m.

Assuming Leicester accept that I presume we'll receive some kind of windfall.

Didn't it used to be you couldn't speak to a player until you'd had a bid accepted. Tapping up I think it's called,

I thought our "sell on clause"only applied to when Norwich sold him.

£50m on Ben White and £60m on Maddison....can't see it myself. Even with Premiership money they'd have to sell a fair bit to justify that. Lacazette only has one year left on his contract so won't go for huge amounts. hold, just remembered they've got the Sheaf money.......

I think in these days of mobile phones, emails, agents etc, etc. the old tapping up rule is defunct that’s if it ever really worked.

Yeah but Norwich will have their own sell ons so when they receive money for that we get a cut as part of our sell on.

e.g. if we both had 10% clause:

Arsenal pay Leicester £60m
Leicester pay Norwich £6m
Norwich pay us £600k
We buy Sheaf for £600k and the circle of life is complete.

Think we get a little windfall from any Maddison deal, Norwich get a percentage of any profit and we get a percentage of the Norwich percentage of you get my drift.

15% would be great, £1.35m by my calculations off a £60m fee. Or one Hamer.

Although it might be less upfront and we’d only get a percentage of that. Still, few hundred grand would go a long way.

I’m sure I have read somewhere it is 15% but it is off the profit so you have to take off what Leicester paid Norwich which I think was £20million so doing the maths it looks to me to be about £900k.
Nice little earner

We got a great deal out of Maddison and I won't have it any other way. People only don't want to admit it as that doesn't go along with the sisu asset stripping narrative.
