My first thought is 'what's this got to do with the original story from the OP?'. You thought it was obvious, I didn't. It makes sense now you've explained it. I don't think it was wild to wonder if race has something to do with it given some of the positions you take or things you say.

It's a 31 page thread that's gone in a lot of directions. Anger at the crime which started the thread AFAIK is because it was an asylum seeker, the route they probably took to get here, and the idea that the way they're housed while their claim is processed played a part in the horrific thing that happened.
If I'm following, the thing that connects them from your POV is their country of origin rather than immigration status or other bits I just mentioned. What people want with regards to deporting criminals seems to vary massively on a case by case basis.If we deport without agreement there’s no guarantee he will serve my time for his crimes.

No, there are about 4 or 5 languages in Sudan. The article didnt specify which language he spoke, only that he spoke (my bad i said Sudanese, but actually says Arabic) and needed an interpreter. Again, Arabic has over 20 languages. Either way, he's a non English speaking Muslim speaking some form of Sudanese language.
