Palmer is better than O'Hare, but not good enough for us?

Have to say, that you can see Palmer creating chances on a regular basis. Obviously he is not an O'Hare in terms of engine, but I like what I've seen of him. Want O'Hare back asap. but Sheaf, Hamer, Palmer and Allen is ok for us (particularly at home to the lesser lights)

Palmer is 26 and several managers have deemed him worthy of starting 70 league games.

Doyle has just turned 19 and has nearly stated 50 games

Well I would like mid table.

do you think we’re going to be near the bottom?

I struggle with the idea of destroying our players every time we lose .

These players have lost 4 in the last 18 games , come on people cut some slack

He started alright, vanished completely, did a couple of nice flicks and passes, but was generally pretty useless I thought.

Shame, as he has 'something' if he can just unlock it consistently.

It's because they're built up as promotion certs in the other games, so it comes as shock when they're shown... not to be.

Agree with that. Equally, talking about this team challenging for the automatics when we have a good result is hysterical nonsense.

Some of the Sheffield United fans on the way back to the car were very impressed with us . Which I found strange I suppose you see your own team differently

I'll repeat, it's no shame for us to lose to one of the teams who expect to get promoted. Part of the reason we looked poor was because we were poor, but part of the reason was they made us look poor. Got to give them some credit too!

I’d take mid table especially with Callum injury

hope it’s not serious but think it will be.

Couple of good loans and I think we should finish mid table

Don't let that last 15 minutes take away from the fact we were well and truly beaten by the better team.

Too many under par performances today.

Since the world cup break

Played 4 W1 D1 L2.

Yup, a well drilled team with a bit of flair and punch which turns on when needed.

That alone is more than most of our substitutions have done all season.

He did well though. Beat his man a couple of times. Great ball into the box on his left. He actually offers pace and clearly scares the opposition.

How does he ‘clearly’ scare the opposition? There‘s blatantly no sign of that at all seeing as he’s barely played

Hmm, maybe, although I had felt after we opened with a bright couple of minutes they were starting to impose themselves anyway, already. We'll never know.

We need a centre half, attacking midfielder (possibky a central midfielder too ) and striker for me

That's with the current side , we can get away with the wing backs we have I think

Third game he's had an actual amount of time to have some of the ball and he's looked good on all three. Similar today to Sunderland, had a go at running at them. The bit where he turned and crossed was great. Had the defender all tangled up unlike Vik who couldn't beat his man all day.

If godden gets back I think we should be fine. Definitely think we need a centre back and a midfield player

Surely he has players ready to come in.

If takeover goes through I’ll be more optimistic although the injury to o hare is actually more of a concern than the result

Let’s just put it down to a big Xmas dinner for them all, they all looked lazy and couldn’t do anything right, we had chances to be in the game and we missed them or made the wrong decision, Allen’s mess set the game up for failure, gyokores lack of finishing boots didn’t help aswell as the ohare injury and hamer not being able to pass to his usual quality, only one 3 who deserve praise are bidwell (I don’t rate in general), sheaf (I don’t know why he was taken off) and Doyle.

if I was robins I would have changed it as soon as first half was finished 2 up top

Tav gyok
Palmer
Sheaf hamer
Bid Panzo rose Doyle dabo

I think we should give tav a go

mark robins is clearly way more qualified but he’s raw and is worth a punt more often from gjr bench

I meant Palmer is better than Allen, but not good enough to replace O'hare. (too much guiness being downed in this house)

"Finger in the air", according to Collins Dictionary:

"A method of doing something that is not scientific or accurate
E.g. It isn’t an exact science—it’s a kind of finger in the air thing."

https://www.collinsdictionary.com/submission/17686/finger+in+the+air

EDIT: My partner adds, " Finger in the air, to see which way the wind is blowing".
