    Use of 'on' or 'at' as prepositions of time

    I learn from the official website that we face Norwich City on Saturday lunchtime. I read there recently that we had a match on the weekend. The use of the word 'on' in these phrases is a development that has passed me by. Why not 'at'? Amateur socio-linguists please get in touch.

    Teams you have an irrational liking for

    I'll start: Norwich, Plymouth, Blackpool, Yeovil, Forest Green - because of their kits, I suspect. Also admiration/envy/vexation regarding Forest because I grew up in Forest territory and they were our bogey team. I like Hillsborough as a ground very much too.
