How much will we spend in the summer?

Lots of talk about Luton. It’s fairly obvious we wouldn’t follow that model. It doesn’t have to be spend nothing or spend 200m. There is a sustainable middle ground. By and large fans have 0 clue about football club finances and you could argue that’s exactly as it should be. What I am fairly...

How much will we spend in the summer?

Sorry but that’s just ridiculous. We haven’t been working towards that for decades. We’ve spent most of that time on the edge of survival and in the lower reaches of the league system. We lose millions a year. Yes. That’s precisely why we can’t just cut loose IF we go up. Can you not see that...

I’d start him in a back 4 against Swansea. I’d give him all three games of Dasilva’s suspension and make the call in who retains the spot after that. I think he’s a good player and with a run will show it.

Fair enough. Obviously others rate him as he’s playing at a good level. Debating players is what it’s all about

I think we’ll batter Swansea by 3-4 clear goals. No doubt about it. They are bilge.

Crikey. Armstrong. Wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole. He’s basically an athlete rather than a footballer. If you want a battering ram who will just run about all day you’ll be able to pick one up far cheaper in L2 or below

The team spirit is the key. There is another debate elsewhere assessing how much money we should throw around IF we go up. Team spirit is more important

How much will we spend in the summer?

Are we not? How do you come up with that? It’s not really transfer fees it’s the wage bill. A liability you can’t shed until the contract runs down. It can ruin clubs. 3-4 savvy signings and give it a bash

How much will we spend in the summer?

Some have waited 25 years to see it. Many saw it first time round and saw financial mismanagement and an attitude to risk that meant we had to go to Northampton etc and have only just got our own stadium. Now us not the time to spaff millions on bang average journeymen.

How much will we spend in the summer?

The key is how you do it. Those that have double relegated have bought expensive dross that they can’t offload when the gamble fails. If you buy sensibly and don’t max everything out it’s perfectly possible to make it work.

How much will we spend in the summer?

If we go up - and there is a long long way to go, I hope we are sensible. Spend £50m on a couple of really good youngish players. Maybe add 1 relatively cheap old head. Take the cash. Take the parachutes. Do it all again and you have a chance of consolidating

If we go up assuming we sign Rushworth we would at the very least need: LB/CM x2/RW/10.

Watch out. The chuckle brothers are about. They can produce stats and statistical analysis to say Dasilva is an excellent defender. Laughable

It doesn’t. Just evidences that he has no ability to tackle. Which feeds into the overall debate that he isn’t a good defender. He’s massively improved overall but there are some - mainly Procdoc to be honest - who want us to believe that because we’re doing well he has transformed into a...
