Imagining Jeremy Paxman as a DJ. Mice throwing themselves on the traps.

    Championship thread 25/26!

"It's understood the Blues were initially unaware of who was taking part in the tour before opting to allow it to continue as planned once it became clear with representatives of Reform’s media team filming and taking photographs."

We'd have run them very close over the two legs I think. I seem to remember that poor McManus let in at least 3 avoidable goals.

The wage bill is surely going to explode regardless. I'm no financial expert, but I imagine that's at least as significant as the outlay in transfer fees.

Maybe the very hot iron, damp tea towel and butter knife would have been better used on Dion

Pretty sure we didn't take anything like 50k to Wembley in 87. I expect someone on here will know the real figure, but then (as now) large numbers of tickets were reserved for hangers-on. I remember a famous actor on a talk show saying he wasn't really interested in football, but "I always go...

Fantastic player and surely one of first names on the team sheet. The thing is, if you bothered to look he clearly showed a lot of these qualities even in his first few games (some of them on the right, where I have no doubt he could also be a real threat). But the team wasn't gelling, he got...

    Transfer Rumour Frank Onyeka

Fair comment, but I remain puzzled by Lampard's insistence in playing Eccles so far forward. Having him alongside Grimes could have been an effective way of tightening us up when we went through that rocky period, especially away from home.

    Transfer Rumour Frank Onyeka

I think it's fair to say that Lampard tweaked the tactical approach when Onyeka came in, so it wasn't just a personnel change. We were far too open and gung ho before, with the full backs going AWOL and Grimes having no help. Onyeka has played a big part in rectifying that, but it's not all down...
