That there was not a major, up in arms pushback and reaction to London Wasps purchasing The Arena in 2014

Thankfully the pests made that much of a pigs ear of their venture all turned out fine, but it should never ever have happened in the first place - Too many were that disillusioned and apathetic to former owners and the way the club was being ran it happened relatively unopposed

Not having my Dad around to see us, although I know he has been putting in a word with the BIG BOSS up there. My dad passed away 2020, Covid and he had been a season ticket holder for 40 odd years plus. I moved away from the UK for nearly 30 years but my dad religiously sent me the program, Pink for many of those years without a thought. He would be so chuffed with how it has ended. Being elderlyish I became a father for the first time 4 years ago and he has my Dad's name and character and he supports CCFC, of course.

That was truly a great day, the jubilation of the news about the stadium earlier in the day really was the tonic - Minute I got to the ground I had a feeling we were going to turn up on the pitch that afternoon

I was just thinking back and the one big regret for me was not watching the Sky Blues beat Bayern Munich, when we qualified for Europe that one time.

It was 1970 and I was still a young kid.

We had beaten Trakia Plovdiv in the first round.

We had played them away in the first leg in Bulgaria and beat them 4-1 and then at home, for the second leg we beat them 2-0. I was there for that game.

The next round we were drawn against the very mighty Bayern Munich!

We played them away in the first leg and we went to Germany and got thumped 6-1 and our keeper, Eric McManus, had a complete mare and was apparently responsible for a number of their goals.

So, it came to the home leg and I just couldn't bring myself to go. I was so distraught after we had lost 6-1 against them in that first leg and I felt I just couldn't go, knowing we were already knocked out.

Anyway, they came here and we actually beat them 2-1. A fabulous achievement.

Have always kicked myself since that I didn't go. We beat one of the best teams in Europe 2-1!

Big regret for me.

I went to that one! Great day, marginally spoiled by the previous leg...

Never standing in the West End, Dad wouldn't let me go in, he felt i was too young.
I used to look over the rail in the family stand above with envy, or watch from "The Crow's Nest".
Sleep tight Dad, I love you, recently passed , Thanks for the memories and giving me the life long gift of CCFC.

You missed a rite of passage.
I can't count the times I stood in the Covered End/West End - including in that rather famous 3-1 over Wolves.

Had a ticket in my basket and everything.Was a skint student at the time and just couldn’t make it work

Very similar for me, had a big deadline that day too and for once in my life decided to make the sensible decision. Always regret not just handing in the day before

Man Utd at Old Trafford. I wasn't allowed to go, even though I was about 15. I remember walking into the living room with a text on my phone from that subscription service that would give you goal updates (crazy to think how far we have come since 2007) showing a Mifsud goal. Still haven't forgiven it.

The other one, which isn't really that relevant, but whilst I am getting pissed off about things like this - the opening game against Ipswich around 2009. I had flown back early from a family holiday to make it. As per usual, there were issues with Birmingham Airport, and I got to the ground a few minutes after kick off. I ran round the stadium, and tried to get to my seat, cutting across one of the blocks to get there. This very large karen-esque female steward wouldn't let me up the stairs and told me I needed to walk all the way round. As I did so, Clinton Morrison scored the opening goal and I missed it. I was fucking furious.

No other regrets. I was there at Newport away, which is now largely a humorous memory rather than a piece of trauma!

I just looked and saw that Eric McManus was only 19 at the time of the Bayern game. That's terribly young for a keeper and to play in a major European game too.

Wonder how we would have got on with Bill Glazier in goal, who was amongst the best goalkeepers in the land.

It was worse for me I was working and couldn’t get the time off so didn’t even get to watch it on tv, just about saw the end and a massive cheer when Tom Bayliss scored.

We'd have run them very close over the two legs I think. I seem to remember that poor McManus let in at least 3 avoidable goals.

Dad died in the week before it was announced we were moving back to the Ricoh after the Northampton exile. After he started taking me in the 66/67 season we had season tickets together at both highfield road and the Ricoh (where also my son attended with his grandad). My regret is to not have had one more opportunity to walk up to a City match with him.
