    Mowbray, RCC and Defending

Exactly. Look at the team's form since Turner got injured. We miss a dominant centre half, maybe it was naive to rely on Reda but he really does make a difference for us. It was unlucky to lose Turner, I'd hope in the summer that Mowbray makes a monster centre back his number 1 priority.

Agree in general, thought Ricketts was better than of late. Fleck would get a 7 and Armstrong a 6. Not sure why you've given Mowbray a 2, not his fault that players make silly mistakes or miss good chances.

    MAF, looking for the positives.

They were good in spells. Fortune played well.

Like I said, Stephens at fault. The free kick for the 2nd was conceded by Stokes after Stephens failed to come and deal with a high ball.

No, but can't be taken in isolation. It's a bad run but what's the answer? Change again and go through the same cycle.

It's okay. It's only the same clowns who were belittling Pressley as tactically clueless the other week before his team did a job on us.

    Mowbray

Sorry armchair doom mongers but it was an improvement, should have taken our chances. The criticism of Mowbray is unfair, got his selection about right.

We don't deserve to be losing, vastly improved on recent performances. Stephens at fault for the first and in the run up to the second. Fortune been excellent, Fleck very good too. Still in this.

Time to bring the curtain down

For once, I am in complete agreement with you. Good post.

    Bigi

It's not about the individual as such, it's about what he brought to the team. He brought that pace on the breakaway, a different dynamic and his dribbling skills drew opposition players towards him. As for Bigi, he isn't that bad and Vincelot in the last couple of games has been far worse...

Fleck doesn't like playing further forwards. He seems most comfortable sat on the toes of the centre backs, making passes that gradually progress the team up the field without any real impetus. If Stephens is an effective holiding player, I'd be tempted to leave Vincelot out completely, he's...

I don't usually engage in predictions, but I think we might sneak a win tonight, and, the SBT mood-o-meter will swing 180° to the play offs being the minimum we will achieve this season.

    That is a briilliant gif....

McLaren sack imminent, Armstrong recall imminent?

No, it's an even madder idea than it was earlier this season. They are struggling for goals and under pressure, it's a lot for him to take on. He's struggling for us now we're struggling and Newcastle play a similar system.

We're dreadful at switching play, particularly Fleck who can only play the way he's facing.
