    Academy future?

The ST site isn't the Higgs centre so again even if that's true they're still not buying the Higgs centre to kick out the CCFC Academy. So it's still a conspiracy theory based on nothing. Also wouldn't it also mean that the Coventry and Warwickshire Award Trust would have to be in on getting...

    Academy future?

Love the way fuel conspiracy theories based on nothing. Have wasps just given a medium term comitment to broad street including investment in facilities to use that as a traing base until they can find a permenant base of their own? Be an odd thing to do if you're just about to move into the...

    Academy future?

Not sure not being a Cov kid. Just remember seeing that it's school playing fields on the left when approaching tollbar island heading towards Rugby. I first noticed it thinking ideal location for a new ground but then noticed it was school playing fields and building there wouldn't sit well...

    More from Anderson

He talks the talk OK. Time will tell if he walks the walk. I'll reserve judgement for a while longer yet but what he talks is refreshing when compared to the waffle that went before him.

    Academy future?

Well unfortunately as I understand it the reason the AHC was built to the spec it was was so CCFC didn't have to make the investment themselves as they couldn't. Seems they recognised that we need charity to survive. Shame the people running the club have never really appreciated that. It seems...

    Academy future?

I think it was the lack of indoor pitch that meant we had to come back to the Higgs IIRC. I think the FA/FL threatened to pull the Cat 2 status as there was no indoor pitch available to the required spec. Pretty sure the one at Higgs is the only pitch in the area that meets the requirements.

Partnership with a local school would be a nice touch but again it comes back to investment. Our owners have been saying for some time now that they don't want to make any and the club has to stand on its own. Maybe a partnership with a school may unlock some investment by way of grants? I don't...

    Academy future?

I think that's a pretty fair summing up Stu. But it does also show we need a long time solution to get over this. Chances are we'll also only find a solution if we're giving a long term commitment. We clearly don't have the funds to go it alone so we'll have to go into partnership with someone...

What other interested parties? I think we all know why they needed to sell. Let's not pretend otherwise.

    Academy future?

Didn't the pitch get recovered in the end? Thought someone on here who uses it regularly reported that it had been?

    Academy future?

Didn't they apply to do something at Ryton when they first pulled the academy out of the Higgs but RBC turned it down flat? Seem to remember something came out in the first round of the FOI's.

    Academy future?

Will need investment to get the cat 2 status. IIRC the indoor pitch is a big part of getting the status which is why we couldn't stay at Warwick uni. If we can't stay on at the I would suggest our best option would be a joint venture of some sort at Warwick uni. Will still require investment...

    Academy future?

Don't worry I've got nothing else to add. I've said my bit. Grendull clearly wants to make CCFC's academy about Wasps so I'll leave it to him. Besides blunder boy has turned up to assist, they don't need my help. They're quite capable of turning the most unlikely thread into a Wasps thread all...

It was the best offer on the table though. It's a real shame that no other party was interest in making a serious offer after serious offers were publicly invited. A bidding war might have erupted and the taxpayer may have got more money in the coffers. Trouble is when there's only one offer on...

For what it's worth I don't like wasps either but unlike yourself it's not because I'm a Rugby fan it's purely down to ownership of the Ricoh and equally I can't see the end game for SISU. They'll have to sell at some point I guess, I just can't see anyone taking on the debt.

    Academy future?

We are talking about football numb nuts. This thread is about the academy of CCFC and a very real threat to it's future. That's down to the club to sort out as it is at the end of every period of the short term contract.

I don't think it makes me a better anything. I just don't understand the mentality of people who constantly bang a big drum about wasps, ccc, ct but when it comes to SISU barely a whisper. You say it doesn't change anything and in truth I guess we'll never really know. Certainly chanting SISU...

    Academy future?

Worrying news. Not just because of the £500k from the premier league because of Cat 2 status but also without the status we're going to find it even harder to compete with the likes of Leicester, Villa, West Brom etc. for local talented youngsters. The long term implications are huge and...
