Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

Richardson left the club 5, nearly 6 years before SISU on board. He left before a spade had even gone into the ground at the Arena site. He isn't to blame for them, lots more went on between 2002 and 2007.

When did the East Stand at Highfield Road get built?

Yeah, the 2-1 game when Julian Darby scored twice. It ended Blackburn's title hopes that year.

When did the East Stand at Highfield Road get built?

Might have been more than that. It's hard to say really. Up until the stadium went all seater (36.5k): Sky Blue Stand and terrace: 11k? Kop and crows nest: 11.5k Main Stand: 6k West Stand and terrace: 8k (3k of this seated) Sounds about right to me

When did the East Stand at Highfield Road get built?

Yeah, I do understand why the council wanted it the way it was and don't blame them. Just think some of the contemporary comments about 'saving the club' or 'bailing it out' are shown to be nonsense by those facts.

When did the East Stand at Highfield Road get built?

I reckon around 5k max. The Spion Kop was 10.8k when it reopened in the 80s. WT about half the size.

When did the East Stand at Highfield Road get built?

Aye, as I have pointed out, the Arena project was as much a council thing as a club thing. The council had zero interest in the club remaining at Highfield Rd.

When did the East Stand at Highfield Road get built?

It only really needed one large stand, the Sky Blue Stand could have been it as there was space for it. I always felt that Highfield Road could have been turned 90 degrees and been rebuilt with Thackhall St closing. I reckon the cost of compulsory purchase and demolition of the houses on the...

When did the East Stand at Highfield Road get built?

It was complete for the first day of the 1994/95 season. Partially opened for the last game against Blackburn of the season before to accommodate their large support. It was another missed opportunity I think, the roof should have been a cantilever. Odd shape due to Swan Lane as well.

    Marc McNulty Signs for CCFC

I get the feeling Robins expects Beavon to go. He's got the release clause in his contract but I am not sure if he's what Robins wants necessarily. I like him having said that, the superb workrate is great against L2 defenders who tend to make more mistakes.

    Marc McNulty Signs for CCFC

That one snuck in, we're obviously building in a winning mentality, that's 2 league winners signed.

    Rank Hoffman's potential investors

I have no idea, the richest local person is Sir Peter Rigby I think, be nice if he suddenly decided he wanted to bankroll his local club. Mind you, he wouldn't stay rich for very long.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

Why did they start to cut costs Einstein? They clearly didn't really cut costs anyway, as the judge in JR1 pointed out.

Like others, I thought Hoffman came across quite well. I don't think I've ever heard him speak before, I like the lack of that university / corporate accent, he sounds very Cov. I'm in.

I'm a mad Coventry City fan but I've never spoken to any of the directors. If you read the post it suggests that the SWFC director got their info from Hoffman.

    Gary Deegan

I can't really remember much about Deegan, tigerish player but not sure if it makes us stronger, isn't he quite small? I think we need a lot more pace in the side.

"Clearly what we've put forward is not enough" "Happy to talk any time, any place, anywhere" "I don't care who we play, really looking forward to going to Forest Green" - fair play to him, a proper fan. Q: How far apart are you? "I really don't know, 3 offers rejected quickly, hates raising...
