Tear it down. There's some good developments, historic buildings and nicer corners of the city centre behind it that it blocks the view of while looking a shitty mess in it's own right. Not sure what it's like inside but if it's anything like the outside it must be a horrible place to stay.

For big towns check out Northampton. It's truly awful. Doesn't even have a decent out of town development to offset the awful town centre that I know of. You'd be better of shopping in Rugby

Not sure what you're expecting from Coventry. It has the same generic shops that most cities and towns of a similar demographic has. Sounds like you're expecting a Harrods or something. Not going to happen.

That whole area has some potential really with the transport museum one side of the park and creams the other. With the water park coming also on the doorstep there must be scope to do more to encourage people to the area. Not sure what's happening with the Coventry and Warwickshire hospital...
