Who in the 3 in midfield? With what wingers? Cody on his own?

The same formation we played when we lost to; Wrexham (not just lost, smashed!), Nuneaton, Ross County, ICT. I like that formation myself, but the lack of (good) quality wingers means this wouldn't work that well.

In that midfield, Fleck on the RM? He's a leftie and when played on the left he struggled at B'pool and Rangers - So no! Baker, hasn't done much on the flanks really has he? (Nor is Macca nor Bell good enough! imo) Thomas + Barton, both good going forward, but not one of them is out and out...

I was looking at Yeovil's team and it looks decent to be fair to them, too many Cov fans expecting to give them a hiding. Also, to the posters on here suggesting we get more direct... It clearly doesn't work! :jerkit: :facepalm:

A few people on this forum are suggesting we play 4-4-2. :facepalm: I'm calling those people out who criticise the diamond and prefer an out-of-date formation, how would you play the flat 4 in midfield? :laugh: Put up, or shut up! :whistle:

Shame isn't it, Hope Fleck can play Tuesday, as with Jennings, as for Thomas, I hope he has a speedy recovery and 'hits the ground running'.

That would make it a good point then if we could've had 0 instead of 1, even then, we could've won it as well, Cody should have scored and got a penalty, Barton, on another day, his shot would've rocketed in.

I think AT played him because hs other options weren't fully fit? Baker apparently not 100% as with S. Jennings and wasn't (rightly) prepared to play G. McS in CM as he'd be a massive liability! Tbf, when Thorn played Bigi, I would've thought it was too soon (seeing as he is only 1 year older...

Tad unfair, Rogers brought in their best player, Sinclair but Martinez did do a lot of groundwork and if Martinez was +ve about their chances of going up, I am sure he would of stayed, but he went to, WIGAN! Wish we got him when were linked with him!

Portsmouth are in a unique situation, under embargo, got no players so an exception has to be made. Don't nessecarily agree though

I think it's important for a win in our 1st game of the season, BUT, it isn't the end all and be all if we lose and I wouldn't expect people to get on Thorn's back if we lose because there're still 45 games left and the fact is that we WILL lose games over the course of the season.
