    4-4-2

Who in the 3 in midfield? With what wingers? Cody on his own?
  2. Mucca Mad Boys

    4-4-2

The same formation we played when we lost to; Wrexham (not just lost, smashed!), Nuneaton, Ross County, ICT. I like that formation myself, but the lack of (good) quality wingers means this wouldn't work that well.

    4-4-2

In that midfield, Fleck on the RM? He's a leftie and when played on the left he struggled at B'pool and Rangers - So no! Baker, hasn't done much on the flanks really has he? (Nor is Macca nor Bell good enough! imo) Thomas + Barton, both good going forward, but not one of them is out and out...

    From a YTFC Perspective

I was looking at Yeovil's team and it looks decent to be fair to them, too many Cov fans expecting to give them a hiding. Also, to the posters on here suggesting we get more direct... It clearly doesn't work! :jerkit:

    4-4-2

A few people on this forum are suggesting we play 4-4-2. I'm calling those people out who criticise the diamond and prefer an out-of-date formation, how would you play the flat 4 in midfield? Put up, or shut up!

Every game we won was when we played the diamond.:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm: We tried 4-4-2 (when the players wanted it), it failed as we have sh!t wingers e.g. Bell, McSheffrey, Baker (he played at his best playing behind striker at Stockport), hence we reverted back to the...

Shame isn't it, Hope Fleck can play Tuesday, as with Jennings, as for Thomas, I hope he has a speedy recovery and 'hits the ground running'.

What about Jennings? ----Jennings---- Barton----Thomas ------Fleck------ Is, imo, the best way to play the diamond.

    Valuable point

That would make it a good point then if we could've had 0 instead of 1, even then, we could've won it as well, Cody should have scored and got a penalty, Barton, on another day, his shot would've rocketed in.

I think AT played him because hs other options weren't fully fit? Baker apparently not 100% as with S. Jennings and wasn't (rightly) prepared to play G. McS in CM as he'd be a massive liability! Tbf, when Thorn played Bigi, I would've thought it was too soon (seeing as he is only 1 year older...

    Calm down!

Tad unfair, Rogers brought in their best player, Sinclair but Martinez did do a lot of groundwork and if Martinez was +ve about their chances of going up, I am sure he would of stayed, but he went to, WIGAN! Wish we got him when were linked with him!

    Calm down!

Someone beat me to it! Damn

    Calm down!

Although a draw isn't ideal, but atleast we never lost! By the sounds of it (I listened on radio as I couldn't make it :( ) we created some good chances, a few players played well e.g. Fleck (let's hope he is OK!). We all knew (or should have!) That this was going to be a difficult game to...

    Proven Goalscorer - Name One

Portsmouth are in a unique situation, under embargo, got no players so an exception has to be made. Don't nessecarily agree though

    Proven Goalscorer - Name One

Although I wish we got him, he is not a proven goalscorer at L1 and only did it last season.

Remove the seats in the ricoh!

    It would be pointless!

    What we forget.....

I think it's important for a win in our 1st game of the season, BUT, it isn't the end all and be all if we lose and I wouldn't expect people to get on Thorn's back if we lose because there're still 45 games left and the fact is that we WILL lose games over the course of the season.

Scott Barron rejects Coventry for Brentford...

Barron, whilst Hussey was at CCFC, was never going to start for us anyway (whose better is debatable but Thorn likes Hussey) and was probably going to be back-up to CH. Him saying he rejected us says to me that Hussey wasn't leaving us (for Millwall anyway). He probably chose Brentford over...

    ? Who is the striker

Although Beavon had an exxcellent season last year but his goal record was pretty poor before then, so maybe it was a fluke? Nonetheless, I'd still take a punt on him, about 200k, add-ons, % of next sale (He's 27 or 28 so even if he does well, not many teams will want him). Also, if we...
