CET: Man Utd defender could come in, Richard Wood could go

Sky blue kid, As you well know an argumentum ad populum is invalid. Just because most people share a view does not make it a fact. Also the assertion that most people share it lacks credible evidence. 99% thought the earth was flat ... In antiquity. Their evidence was flawed, and most just...

CET: Man Utd defender could come in, Richard Wood could go

Sky blue kid, If these are facts they cannot be disputed once they are supported with evidence. What you have there is a mixture of facts, opinions and prejudices.

CET: Man Utd defender could come in, Richard Wood could go

Non league, you make some excellent points there and could be spot on. However, I guess some of us expected the OUTs with only a few INs, with the youth team being first reserve. As it stands we can fill the team and bench without using the untried teenagers. Of course, once injuries set in it...

    Keogh says personal goodbye

Spiteful and bearing no relation to reality. Let me guess, Keogh 10 and Sammy 3 in ratings whereas the neutral, unbiased observer would give Keogh 8 and Sammy 6 or 7. Many of our fans exaggerate how good their favourites are and how poor the ones they don't like are. Neutral observers will...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Brian Howard is one on trial, but thet cannot sign him as still under embargo. We should nip in and make him an offer with Keogh's freed up wages ... Before another club does.

Signing you are most looking forward to seeing?

Kilbane, we need an experienced and composed player

Do we have a better squad than last year?

Depends when you're judging from. OUT McPake, Keogh, Cranie, Bigi, Clingan, Juke, Platt, Eastwood, Clarke-Harris ... Leave aside 3 loanees, if you wish: Norwood, Nimely, Hermann IN Malaga, Edjenguele, Kilbane, Fleck, Elliott + youth players and Cody On balance, I would say No. If, if, if...

In the sonnet Shakespeare used it it makes sense. In current parlance it is absurd. Can't believe I'm discussing Shakespeare on this forum!

No, it's not just you. I had to google it. Have to say that it depressed the hell out of me. I hate it with a fury.

    Keogh's leaving...

Please face facts that Keogh will leave City fans. It happens every year and it will be a blessing if it isn't on the eve of the season ... Giving some false hope. We have seen it season after season. Disappointing but inevitable until financially the club is more stable.

No panic from me. Seen it over 40 seasons now. AT must bring in another goalscorer, whether a free, a fee or on loan, not bothered ... as long as it happens.

    Forward

Only Cody, with ROD as back up... Not good enough. We need another goalscorer... No. 1 priority, or get used to a season of hard luck stories... We're creating chances, we just need to be more clinical, blah, blah, blah

As predicted - nothing much has left, so are we 'strong'?

I am pleased with the new signings and cautiously optimistic, but mainly because I feared we would be left with just dead wood and kids with no new signings, except more kids and deadwood. Having said that I think it is wildly optimistic to proclaim that the squad is better than last year...

What could it look like with Jennings in it ?

That wasn't the line up. It was Murphy Christie Keogh Wood Hussey Bigi Cranie McSheff Bell Juke ROD Yet again scapegoat Sammy implicated in a poor display... He was on international duty. For the record he was not playing in most our most shocking displays last season... Forest...

    Todays Squad

Your point is an excellent one. However, in the scenario you suggest Kilbane would play centre half and Thomas centre mid. I think SISU believe the team that played at Southampton make up the squad. In other words the kids are very much part of the squad, like last season. The only...

    Todays Squad

Sammy is wanted by Millwall and Brighton... 2 ambitious Championship clubs ... But not by the fans of a downwardly-mobile League One club which has a dearth of midfielders now. Scapegoat Sammy doesn't have the same catchy sound as Sideways Sammy.
