Why rearrange Tranmere for midweek night in January?

The pitch looked awful last week. How much worse will it get If freezes then is thawed out, freezes again then thawed out for Saturday when more snow and ice is forecast?

    Weak foot...

Unacceptable in a professional footballer. Drives me mad watching them contort their body to get on the right side of the ball. Shocking. If I were a carpenter would I be allowed to use only a hammer.? Sorry can't use a saw.

Why rearrange Tranmere for midweek night in January?

Just checked weather forecast for Longford ... Minus 3 on Wednesday at 8pm, dropping to minus 5 later that night. I'm out. Sorry. Attendance will be about 2000 lower than a fair evening in April.

Why rearrange Tranmere for midweek night in January?

Cheers Swanny. I realise some young bucks won't mind going out and fighting off the polar bears on the way back to their cars but some of us travel from outside the area and don't fancy it in this weather. Stupot, I just counted 6 weeks in March and April without a midweek match. OK one might...

Why rearrange Tranmere for midweek night in January?

I realise why they had to rearrange the Tranmere game. Why not put it in March or April? No reason I can think of. It was originally scheduled for January 5th and was postponed because of the FA cup match at Tottenham. Nothing to do with JPT

Why rearrange Tranmere for midweek night in January?

The stupidity of this fixture on a midweek night in January beggars belief. Why place a postponed game then when the temperature is likely to be minus 2? I have just counted and there are 6, yes 6 empty weeks in March and April when a midweek night match is quite an agreeable prospect. Only...

    Villa in the bottom 3

I live in Dudley, lived in Birmingham before that and worked in Wolverhampton for many years. The reason Villa are the most hated is simple: a combination of firstly, jealousy as they have won the League and the European cup in living memory ... And secondly, their fans have always thought they...

    Kilbane explains Crewe outburst

Such is the society we live in. I work in a school and see the lack of respect first hand ... swear at your parents, then your teacher, then a shop assistant, then a bobby. You get away with them all so, next step ... abuse people who annoy you. The street cleaners where I live receive shocking...

Bradford Fans attitude to the JPT

The away leg is during half term week so a lot of season ticket holders who are children or have children but live away from Coventry, like me, can go to this game when normal midweek Away games we cannot. All the tickets will be snapped up by season ticket holders for sure.

    12000 ??

On tv all you saw was about 25 people behind the dugouts and a sprinkling of Preston fans. Saw more people on Hearsall Common walking their dogs when matches were on there.

    Crowd noise

Live 40 miles away and the price is not an issue. Midweek games in the bleak midwinter don't appeal when I don't get home until midnight and have an early start ... Age catching up with me.

    Crowd noise

I watched on Tv and was disappointed it wasn't that loud except in that last 10 minutes. The fact that the camera doesn't pick up our fans at all doesn't help... Looked like we had a near empty stadium. I'm sure it was really loud in there though. Well done to all Sky Blues tonight ... Except...

How close to sell out crowd at the Ricoh?

So, when the dust settles... How close to a sell out will the area final be at Ricoh? Discuss... Note, second leg is during February half term and should ensure a larger crowd.

The Senior Generation of Sky Blue Fans

Being Old School means you can smile when the young guns get excited about any "big game" when you've seen it all before. The idea that Preston at home in the Football League Trophy (original name) is a big game shows how low we have sunk. I can remember laughing at Wolves fans when they won it...

    Preston at home.

Note, I live 30 miles from Cov and after taking family members home I don't get home until 11.30.

    Preston at home.

I'm not going either. Season ticket holder, which is a big enough commitment for me thanks. I don't do cup games as watching City is painful enough and over 42 years I have put myself out many times only to be gutted, cold and home at midnight. OK we are on the up but CCFC owe me more than I owe...

    David McGoldrick off to Ipswich

So sorry that you think Westwood won't regret a career which had great promise petering out like it has. He has played 9 league games in 18 months at Sunderland. What a waste! What medals or memories will he be able to share with his grandchildren? zilch. Such a short career and the best years...
