Another 813 hospital deaths as of 5pm yesterday 5252 more positive tests from 11789 tested, not very clear about the parameters for the data though, i.e. is that 5252 from that figure of 11789 or from the cumulative figure? Either way, I don't think lockdown should end any time soon even...

For anybody interested, it looks like the HSJ had made their articles open access at the moment (you usually need a subscription to access them). This really is a far more reliable place to go for NHS type news than the MSM: Exclusive: Nightingale largely empty as ICUs handle surge

The reason they're coming out of lockdown or talking about it is the rate of infection is coming down. It isn't because they've bought a load of masks. It would be a ridiculous proposition to come out of lockdown based on the premise of everybody wearing masks.

    New Labour Leader

Local councils have always had responsibility for social care and the budgets for it, it was in the initial design of the health service back in 1948, lots of political argument then and ever since. The Care Act 2014 just put greater obligations on them (at the same time as their budgets were...

Oh bloody hell, i did think Sheffield United but discounted them as they'd been promoted to the PL in the mid 00s and then again recently, suppose we've played them a lot in League 1 mind.

You need to think through the logical implications of privately run services though which are accumulated loss of expertise from public institutions which eventually lead to hostage pricing from the private entities, lack of collaboration between providers (as they are commercial competitors)...

Some colleagues of mine have been working 7 days to support the opening of the Manchester Nightingale. It'll be used as a step-down from ICU (that's palliative care or rehabilitation). It has 650ish beds and they're assuming they'll need 140 of them by mid May. Not sure yet whether all of the...

Just read what I said ffs. The more series cases show the symptoms I mentioned, as clearly shortness of breath is something you'd want to seek medical advice on. Hence why they're the official advice. I said the assertion that everybody (which suggests that there is no consistency at all in...

The Johnson story makes no sense, nothing in it adds up and skepticism towards what you're told by a proven liar is natural and healthy.

It isn't a "well proven fact" that everyone gets affected in a different way, it's anecdotal even if true. The WHO and UK Gov both advise that the main symptoms are: fever tiredness dry cough

Anything in hospital is anything with covid on the death certificate AFAIK. A death cert has causes 1a, 1b and 1c so it needs to be mentioned as one of those. In some countries I believe they're counting any deaths that include pneumonia on the cert too.
