    Hamer’s corners

Hoping we address that sharpish. The positive of conceding two similar goals early on is that it’s something we can address right away.

First goal, no QPR player had any idea where Gooden was, their LB drifted completely in to mark no one. Second goal, Dabo is penned in by 3 players, and somehow gets past all of them, the cross takes a lucky bounce but their defence is completely open for O’Hare to score. If we conceded those...

    Hamer’s corners

Since Hamer has come in, we’re actually making first contact from set pieces and making chances. It’s going to get us a lot more points in 50-50 games where we pick up a win or a draw. This is something we were badly missing in the last 3 season under Robins.

Their defending was very poor. Overall, we defended well, but we didn’t deal with another far post corner and conceded a stupid penalty. Take the positives, but we’ve conceded a lot of stupid goals already this season - all 5 goals in our last 3 games were silly. 3 penalties conceded in 4 games...

For real? Even when we were penned in, they didn’t create a clear cut opportunity. After the second half, we were by far the better side. Defensively, QPR looked all over the shop - our two open play goals were pretty soft and we should’ve scored before McFadz winner. EDIT: even their manager...

He did well, I hope he proves me wrong and perhaps this second half is the start of him developing nicely in that position.

O’Hare for me. That goal was a brilliant way to top off a great performance! Really happy with that performance! Showed a lot of character to pick ourselves up after such a slow start and to go a goal down. Hamer was class in the middle of the park, supplying a good range of passing, setpiece...

Sheaf looked decent too. But Hamer really has been brilliant. We get 2-3 good chances from set-pieces every game atm. It’s key in picking up extra goals this season.

    It’s a shock we’re actually a threat from set-pieces at the minute!

I love how tenacious O’Hare is as an AM, he presses players really quickly and physically. You’ve got to appreciate players who try that hard on both sides of the ball. Too early to call signing of the season already?

The reason we play with 4 CMs is to facilitate possession play. In games where we’re getting pressed and we need to adapt. There’s a reason we switched quite regularly to two upfront - there are times we lacked goals last season. Allen and O’Hare need to up their production to justify their...

I’d like to take the opportunity to apologise to the forum for suggesting we should start Walker over Gooden for the start of the season. I’m glad my previous comments about him being capable of 10+ goals looks decent value too! Can definitely see us dropping an AM to accommodating 2 strikers...

We’re just not stringing passes together, we have to be more direct if we under constant pressure. Definitely think Sheaf ought to come on early in the second half. Without hating on Shipley, we don’t get the most out of him in the DM role.

    Bournemouth game selected for tv

Actually, I might just get a month pass on Now TV for Sky - maybe it’s not so bad after all with all the Prem games too. I’m one of those folk who have just bought the membership and do not have Sky.

For the Barnsley game, I’d start Sheaf and Hamer. This game however, Sheaf is probably best used coming off the bench in the second half, replacing Shipley or Hamer if he starts losing his head. 90 minutes on Tuesday, I’m sure MR would’ve taken him off had he planned to start him today.

Fans vote with their feet. If the fans packed out stadiums for these cup games, teams would value them more. Particularly the Checkatrade and Carabao Cup competitions have failed to generate a lot of interest from fans. The FA Cup still generates interest, albeit by running on the fumes of its...

He thought Baka should have got a red card. Steve Evans and his teams are always the victim, it’s never their fault.
