I want a proper discussion about Freehold ownership

What's stopping sisu putting in a bid?

I want a proper discussion about Freehold ownership

I agree, and that's where I have a problem with them. I have no real issue with them trying to increase the value of the club so they can sell on for a profit. But if you want something in life you have to pay for it.

Why the need to see Joy?

Because we are stakeholders in ccfc. Would you let someone you've never met look after something valuable you own? For all we know she might not even exist. Also if she is making decisions on behalf of the club she needs to be subjected to the fit and proper persons test. So far we have...

I want a proper discussion about Freehold ownership

Personally I dont mind sisu via ccfc buying the stadium, provided safeguards are put in place and they pay market value. What this thread is about though is the benefit of owning the freehold to ccfc. In terms of the football club there is no need to own the freehold.

I want a proper discussion about Freehold ownership

Lease doesn't run out for about another 40 years so I dont think that is too much of a concern. You state that with a lease you are liable to maintenance charges, if they owned the freehold who do you expect to pay for maintenance? All you have mentioned in your post is about what sisu...

    Wolves & Warsaw

Think some people just like to moan! Haven't read all this thread but am I right in thinking wolves sold out in just a few days?

    Wolves & Warsaw

Guaranteed to win at both these games as neither Wolves or Walsall own the freehold of their grounds.

The heat rises as the sun goes down on SISU?

Im not sure. If their running at a loss that means they have to act. Could lead to a change of use for the bowl, meaning the club can never return. Its possibly better if Acl are able to stick it out.

The heat rises as the sun goes down on SISU?

Why doesn't the local media challenge sisu on this idea of needing to own the freehold? For years wolves were highlighted as being one of the best run clubs in the league, yet they manage that on a leasehold.

    I just don't understand....

Surely then it can be equally argued that Higgs and the Council also saved the club back in 2003?

    Stadium plans

The Keepmoat stadium? If that's the case then after a season there fans will be longing for a return to the charismatic and atmospheric Ricoh.

    Divided we fall ......

There is no real split, 85-95% of fans are unified in not going to Northampton. Unfortunately the media (well cwr and the telegraph) classes those solely at sixfields as the fans.

What is best for the Tax Payer?

What is best for the taxpayer is for the club to put in an offer for the ground at market rate. The club then works in conjunction with the council to finish the redevelopment of the area. A successful club would then be an asset to the city. A well run football club working with the...

    Les Reid Tweet

Branding some a bully, slightly slanderous tweet there by Mr Reid.

    Support

The players need our support? I would argue that what they need even more is stable ownership, competent leadership and to be playing at the Ricoh.
