You say that as if Millwall, Stoke and Derby are poor teams. Millwall are only a point behind us and Stoke are above us in the table having beaten us. Derby have nearly twice as many points as we have and are only out of the playoff places on goal difference. I’d love us to be where Derby are.

@Cov kid 55 I think Lati is a perfectly decent player and his versatility is a real asset to us.

I have just got home and seen the team. The BBC have us down as playing 4-4-2, assuming that Lati will be at CB. They could be right of course but I wonder if it will be 4-4-2 with Lati in midfield, which I would prefer.

I’m certainly keen for a good performance but equally we need to start picking up points soon. Watford are favourites for the win, so I would be happy with a draw.

For a start he seems to be bearing even bigger grudges than last time, probably because of his perception that he was cheated out of victory in 2020 and the multiple criminal charges and convictions. I think he is even more dangerous and unpredictable than before.

Trump was surely only ahead of Biden because of the latter’s advancing senility. Trump is so appalling that I would like to think that almost any half-decent candidate could beat him. Harris only being slightly ahead isn’t inspiring. Hopefully she will win but I’m not putting my house on it.

It will be disastrous for the world if Trump wins. I don’t think Harris is a particularly strong candidate - a decent one would surely be miles ahead in the polls - but she simply has to win.

This will be a difficult game for us, away from home to a team 14 places above us in the league table. I’m praying that we can find some better form and sneak a narrow win but I will happily settle for a point.

Wood is bowling as fast and as well as ever. The problem of course is his fitness. We need to keep Wood, Stone and Archer in the frame for test cricket in the hope that at any particular time at least one of them is fit enough to play. I accept that Wood is moving towards the end of his test...

He’s definitely better on the left. He needs time to adjust to playing at a higher level but I think he will. He has strength and pace which are key attributes.

I cannot believe that, for the 3rd election in a row, a country as large as the USA has managed to come up with such a poor/terrible choice of presidential candidates. It is saying something when you consider that the best of them was probably Hillary Clinton.
