Cov Alliance isn't in the non league pyramid. It's just a local league. They will be in the Midland Combination. Probably in the Mid Comb Premier but could go into Division 1 or 2.

Of course it is! No one is saying you have to support another team. For those of us that are unable to get to Walsall or do not want to go to Walsall there are alternate teams that can be followed. Football is entertainment and I would rather do something with my afternoon than mope about...

Think you are being a little disrespectful writing them off as a pub team. Yes the standard is lower but it's a lot better standard than pub leagues. I know your understanding of the football pyramid is probably not the as good as some others on here but that does not excuse ignorance.

I will occasionally go to Leamington too. But as this United will be just round the corner from where I stay when I'm in Coventry I will give it a go too for convenience. Far more convenient than any of those others you have listed. To be honest, recently I have found going to watch...

This will be the local non league side for some people.

I was gonna put that. Thought it was probably a bit "American".

I got that from your previous posts. At the end of the day everyone will have their own opinion. I will be happy for some football to watch on a Saturday. To be honest, much like Sphinx and Copsewood most won't even know they are there.

Maybe a CCFC fan owned club would be better. Could vote on important issues such as name, etc. would be more of a FC United of Manchester type set up. Would involve people putting their hands in their pockets though. I would need to know more about Coventry United before deciding if they...

Don't see that a name really makes that much difference to be honest. They are not claiming to be a Phoenix club.

Are you sure it's not a love of fine stallions?

That is not necessarily a bad thing. Cities with 2 major clubs tend to hold support in city better.

    Coventry United FC

Quite. This should be a long term commitment for whoever is running the club. What kit colours are you going for then Jase? Is it pure red? If no sky blue I would favour red and green as the colours of Coventry.

As a Packers fan would be happy to see them play in green and yellow! May be somewhat unpopular with everyone else though!

Was thinking more between now and then. Ground grading through non league is quite strict as you progress through leagues so they must have a plan to either develop or move to somewhere like the Butts which will be big enough as an interim ground. Doubt they will ever realistically be able to...

I'm not sure about fan controlled. Sounds like 4 businessmen. The fan involvement/ownership has not yet been explained.

    Coventry United FC

I assume the owners understand ground grading requirements if they want to move up the leagues. Wondered what the future plans were as Westwood sports ground won't suffice for very long.?

If they are having united in the name how about:- City of Coventry United FC Or could just be City of Coventry FC
