Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 26th Aug

You can clearly see these players have the ability, and effort is there. They just look slightly disjointed and scared to put the ball in the box. Give it a few weeks and we’ll be fine

Agree. The home attendances are probably the highest they’ve been since the 70s
  4. bigfatronssba

    Sunderland crowd..

I think it might just touch 26k

Start casually talking about your will. That normally makes kids more generous to their parents :ROFLMAO:
  6. bigfatronssba

    Sunderland crowd..

All I’ve argued against is the overreaction and the dismissal of any solutions. JSB memberships will help with most of the kids we’re talking about
  7. bigfatronssba

    Sunderland crowd..

Fact. I happen to agree with you. I'm just finding it amusing some of the comments on here. Its like Doug King emptied a huge sack of Sky Blue Sam's sh*t all over their little darlings
  8. bigfatronssba

    Sunderland crowd..

    Oh that’s a mature attitude
  9. bigfatronssba

    Sunderland crowd..

But we’re talking about the people who go to one off games. The way some are carrying on here it’s like loyal supporters are being bled dry every week. Customer loyalty pays. Those who go regularly can get a JSB membership

Funny how all these people only have an impromptu urge to go to Cat A games
  11. bigfatronssba

    Sunderland crowd..

That’s the point. Prices reflect demand.
  12. bigfatronssba

    Sunderland crowd..

Perhaps we should all wait and see what the Huddersfield attendance will be? If it’s higher than the Sunderland game then that would suggest tickets are too expensive. If it’s lower or equal then it would suggest tickets are priced correctly

The big house on the corner was for the apprentices? I never knew that!

The floodlights were added in 1957 so it must be after that. Can't be long after it though judging by the van and lack of TV aerials on the houses

    I’d guess around 1500 left

This is the picture I was thinking about. Definitely no boxes in the Main Stand at that point

Anyone old enough to remember this view? Back of the original West Terrace from Catherine Street

This must be one of the last times HR was full in its pre all seater days.

When did those boxes go in at the front of the Main Stand? I remember seeing pictures of it in the early 70s and the Main Stand had a terrace at the front of it then

They’ll be keeping that for potg I imagine
