Match Thread Coventry City v WBA Sat 22nd November 25 12.30 KO

I've suspected something for a while, he's not been himself. I was worried about his tendonitis flaring up again.

Apparently not! Was that Alex Ferguson saying that?

It is a big chance. Even Lamps just said he hopes to see the right Ellis today!

Same as BTA and he had a much longer flight! BTA on the bench so smells of a knock to me unfortunately!

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

We've made 147 bids apparently, according to the local paper!

I wouldn't start simmo unless Haji can't play at all and then it's a coin toss! He just can't seem to contribute enough with his feet to the general play. Lampard went the other way last time so maybe Simmo will get another chance.

All strikers good through dry spells and we'll probably never know if anything is troubling him. Do we really think he isn't trying or can't be bothered in a WC season and given another opportunity to start? Honestly!

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

My point is pretty obvious, the hype was wildly exaggerated and he was never coming. I don't believe for a second that we made "three bids" it looks like we made a firm enquiry but were told to jog on pretty early on. I very much doubt there was ever any intent to blow £10m either.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Interesting comments from Hughes today about the summer for those who were clinging onto every word of the 3 bids etc “I think it was clear to see that there was genuine interest but I think it was killed quite quickly." “Errr me and the manager both said that I am happy where I am, and...

Lampard did say: "Asked if it’s just a case of doing the 32-year-old striker a favour, Lampard told CoventryLive: “Yeah, I guess you could call it doing him a favour. I know Patrick well and he hasn’t got a club. He’s training with us. I’m very happy, he’s a good lad, Patrick. He’s very easy...

Who knows? They clearly planned to add a winger in the last window but they will be also be careful about cashflow. We'll still be paying out a lot for previous transfers on top of wages. Nominally we've got three spots free just now.

I think so too. I doubt it's in the reckoning unless there's an emergency and then he's there. How convenient!

Maybe he's more of an insurance policy in case one of the strikers goes down. He would be cover until the window reopens...

Not for only a few weeks, no. I'm sure that they'll have looked at value aspect of the signing though. The fact that we didn't offer him an extension probably tells the story I suppose.
