Of course, but I think teams are going to see through our Plan B pretty quick if it consists of “Play it over the top for the quick guy to run after”. We’re not going to score goals like Gyokeres did against Sheff Utd every week in this division. League One and League Two, maybe.

Goalkeeper Simon Moore expected to sign according to the Bladesman.

I swear this board is obsessed with spending money on keepers. When you look at the gymnastics we had to pull to sign Jake fucking Bidwell, the idea of us doing the same for a small upgrade on Simon Moore fills me with dread.

I don’t know which is more unlikely - the idea that everyone else but Robins has spotted that Championship defenders have no idea how to cope with long balls over the top to a quick striker, or the idea that we’re going to change our entire tactical system to accommodate Fabio Tavares.

    Goal or no goal

I mean it’s pointless debating it if we have technology that can categorically show if the ball crossed the line - whether or not it worked in the moment.

Not sure where you’ve got that figure from - I’ve seen $1.7 billion. I’m sure you’re as horrified with this deal as you were with that one?

We do it as well. It’s just never the deciding factor of why we (or any other team at this level) win or lose games.

This is all just more Sunday League cliche stuff Robins may as well send them out there with a team talk of “Let them know you’re there with your first tackle……and don’t let it bounce”

    Goal or no goal

Honestly find it bizarre that we’re focusing so much on a goal-line decision that will likely be explained away by technology in an instant, while the blatant foul on Tavares in the area seems to be a far more egregious example of a shit reffing decision.

    Without actual net investment

We absolutely need actual net investments next season Otherwise we’ll get tired fetching the ball after goals go in

Unless getting in the ref’s ear is suddenly worth a goal or two under new FIFA rules then I doubt it would make that much of a difference.

    Goal or no goal

It’s incredibly accurate and to suggest otherwise based on one high-profile error among thousands of games is silly.

“Dark arts”….“Need a Michael Doyle type in the side”….All you needed to say was that Robins should have made his subs earlier and played it over the top to Tavares and you would have had a full set.

What exactly are we wasting? The opportunity to outperform our unfancied status even more than we already are? I understand the disappointment at not doing even better, but given the limitations we’re working under, it’s hardly cause for jumping off a bridge or saying we’ve totally screwed...

    Goal or no goal

We have goal-line technology right? If so, this is a pointless debate.

Not sure how you can totally write off a season which you were also totally unfancied for, just because you didn’t go on some magical Cinderella run all the way to the playoffs.

Wasn’t goal-line technology cited as one of the “unforeseen costs” that meant Robins didn’t see any of the extra season ticket revenue? If so, not only does it mean it probably wasn’t a goal, it also means that our fucking season tickets paid for it not to be one.

Supposedly it’s only to be spent on humanitarian projects. Still - it’s an extraordinary amount of money to be giving to a country like Iran, in return for a few hostages.
