Yeah it’s never really had anything to do with the actual amount of stoppages has it - it’s just this generally agreed unwritten rule of thumb (about 3 minutes as standard, plus or minus a minute or two depending on how busy the second half has been). I’m glad they’re trying to address it.

I didn’t put a value judgment on where Newcastle ranked financially. I certainly don’t think Newcastle have ever had great owners (and Shepherd was clearly insane). But when it comes to billionaires like Ashley owning football clubs I’m yet to see why I should give a shit about how much money...
