I just mean it’s all relative - being “better for Argentina” is a fairly meaningless statement if you’re comparing individual players. Argentina fans wouldn’t pick Batistuta over Messi for that reason, so I’m not sure what it proves.

If you needed someone to score against Bolivia or Venezuela, then he was your man, no question. (I guess my point is that I don’t really see what comparing goalscoring records in international tournament proves in terms of arguing which players were better)
