new club shop to be opened

I have gone through all six pages of this thread and two things appeared to me; 1) Good news we will actually have a Club shop in which people buy tickets, merchandise and can genuine relate to, which is good and a step in the right direction. 2) There are a lot of strange people on this...

    Southampton

That's a nice compliment from a Saints fan the last time they came to the Ricoh they brought 3008 fans and we had 12,613 so it's good to know that the atmosphere was good at those numbers

    Divided we fall ......

Okay lets say for a moment your right !!! how much do you think they will sell us for !!! I doubt it will be cheaply !!! what guarantees are there that in the future any potential buyer could reunite us with the Arena !!! get my point !!!

What is best for the Tax Payer?

I think the point of the arguement is that the Government funding that CCC have been using to maintain the Arena isn't that, it's actually Tax Payers money, has the Arena been ruled by a judge as a community asset?

What is best for the Tax Payer?

If I was you I would send a letter to the Council and pose the question as to why the Council Tax is as high as it is. Include as many facts regarding job cuts and the Arena as possible.

    Divided we fall ......

And an opinion which is shared by many others OSB, the problem we have at our door step is how do we draw the line in the sand and move forward as a unit? Even if we moved back to the Ricoh tomorrow and the Arena was bought by SISU at a fair price and we were in the Premier League within three...

I think that's a pretty dead certainty NLHWC, I'll be surprised if they gain anything from the JR. Do you think that ACL believe CCFC/SISU have moved on from the Ricoh? Betting man would say no.

What is best for the Tax Payer?

Agreed. The best thing would be if CCC sold the Arena to the Football Club IMO. Selling it to a another party like Haskell achieves nothing.

What is best for the Tax Payer?

I don't see how the sale of the Arena could depend on the JR, at the end of the day if CCC/ACL sold the Arena, SISU may drop the JR.

Don't disgaree MMM and take your word for it however Anne Lucas IMO was speaking for the Council not ACL who have been making the statements.

Before anyone jumps up and down in delight I am seeing a quote from Leader of Coventry Council Ann Lucas, can you show me where that inlcudes ACL like I mentioned below? Statements have been released by ACL in the past regarding many things with the JR hanging over the Council's head, however...

What is best for the Tax Payer?

Exactly Torch, a decision needs to be made now for the sake of Tax Payers and for the Council, they could make all the hassle and bad negativity dissapear with a sale of the Arena.

What is best for the Tax Payer?

Converting would mean spending more money which I hazard a guess wouldn't.. a) be fondly received by tax payers if the council chose to spend it in those means? b) The council have much more budget to spend on conversions?
