    Is Sakamoto a wingback yet?

He did well there today but I was surprised Norwich didn’t attack much down the wings at all. Or attack in general really.

Yeah it’s a good question. I don’t know if it was a factor, but the political controversy over letting the Saudis buy a PL team would have only been greater if they got a giant stadium that was mostly paid for by the British taxpayer as part of the deal.

    London clubs

Industrial towns have typically had bigger fan bases and more investment, but that has changed as the sport has gone more global. London teams have gone from being poorly supported to having some of the biggest stadiums in the country. The impact of the Olympics and the NFL in London has also...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

If we believed that either Israel or Palestine’s actions posed an immediate strategic risk to our country then we would. Nothing quite like introducing the Israel-Palestine question into a thread to take the heat out of the debate!

Tbf the idea of watching Saka on the wing with Simms and Wright up front in 20+ degree heat has got me genuinely excited for today Anyway 0-3 Norwich

This isn’t even true in FIFA, let alone real life.

Really not sure that Sakamoto is going to cope with their wingers - it’s an odd one to play him there while Latibeaudiere is available, and we’re keeping Binks or Kitching out of the side to accommodate him.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

To be honest, while their track record on this clearly speaks for itself, the idea that the western involvement in this war is little more than a US government hydrocarbons racket is kind of undercut by the knowledge that Donald Trump wants to stop the whole thing as soon as possible! Or is he...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Why does any of that matter? For all of the third party countries involved in this war, the only real concerns are strategic ones. It’s still possible for the war to be awful, and a stalemate, and a gigantic waste of money, and yet for our involvement to still be justifiable.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

In principle that’s how it should work, but there aren’t any countries who act on principle alone. The issue here is that the UK/EU/US etc have deemed Russian expansionism to be a strategic threat, so here we are. If you disagree with that assessment then naturally you would have a problem with...

I don’t really care that much. I’m here to be entertained.

I think the only fair thing to do here is to replay the last two years of English football. The game needs consistency.

Honestly surprised that people are still upset about one of our players getting punished - completely fairly - for something that happened two years ago.

Who’s conducting and publishing the interviews with the people on the ground? Do you arrange one-on-one meetings with your intelligence community sources, or are you intercepting their comms covertly?

The pattern to me seems to be that players being asked to play multiple games every week are getting injured. No medical team in the world can prevent that. I also think that Palmer and Kelly’s injury records are capable of distorting any pattern.

Your criticism suggests that a better medical team would have somehow prevented these injuries - true to some extent, but a much more limited one than you think. I’m not sure there’s a single team in the country not struggling with injuries at the moment.
